I also posted this on the Hayti, forum...

We've found a cat in our neighborhood (in Hayti) and are pretty sure that she must belong to someone. She's tortoiseshell-colored, very sweet and affectionate and seems to be lost.

I've uploaded a photo here:

If anyone knows who this cat belongs to, please send an email to homeward_angel04@yahoo.com. I'm sure someone must be missing her right now.

I live right across the street from the hospital - does that look like her? She was on our doorstep this morning, but she's since run off. She usually comes back, though.

I live in Caruthersville... It is pretty much the neighborhood cat but I claim her because she stays right around my house. The neighborhood boys are mean to her so I am the watchout for strays. She wonders off but usually comes back and I was getting worried. She looks like her.

I tried calling her Momma, like you suggested, but she seems to come to just about any name she's called. She is very affectionate and will disappear for a few hours, but she always ends up back on our front porch.

I've seen her at a few other locations around the street (Reed Street). Not sure if it's the same cat - Caruthersville seems a long way to travel, but I've heard of stranger when it comes to felines.

If it is the same cat, we're taking pretty good care of her - making sure she's got plenty of food and water. We've even put up a kitty condo on our porch for her to keep her warm at nights (my indoor cats don't have anything to do with the condo anymore).
