First let me say that I HATE that they cut that big ugly passage through the hill where the by-pass leaves Town up by the hospital....BUT...one good thing about Carthage is the view you get when coming down the hill toward town right about sunset..some days its breathtaking. You gotta actually look out at the Country side and the hills though, not at Carthage itself. The view of Carthage (the actual town itself) from the top is pretty at night too.

But once you get down into town and actually see whats going on and live around here..it aint even worth the view. Just my 2 cents worth.

Well I've tried real hard to think of something but I really can't think of anything that's appealing about Carthage whatsoever. I really think the next couple of yrs. will be hard on what's left open in town.I hope for the best but I think its over. We should have gotton liquor sales and liquor by the drink 30 yrs ago now with all the surrounding towns with it even if we pass it now its too late.I hate to be negative but when its over its over

There are many people who complain about Carthage or Smith County in general, and my question to those people is "What have you done to make it a better place?" If you have no answer, you have no right to complain. If all of you would pool your collective talents and energy, you could make the difference you so want to see. Or, you can just keep complaining without action and nothing will change.

Everyone complains about Carthage.
No one seems to have one good word about our town, or people in it.

With that being said.
If there is nothing good about this town.
Why does anyone expect our leaders to bring in factories, and other jobs.
How can we attract business or anything for that matter, from outside our town?
We don't even have anything good to say about it. Why should they come?

I think we need to wake up. Take the blame and put it where it belongs.
Not on our government officials, but on US !
We are the ones responsible for making our town worth something, some where that folks want to come.

I'm not sure an "adult enertainment club" is the kind of improvement Carthage is in need of, I believe that would only serve to back-up it's hypocritical reputation.

It would bring people from adjoining counties.People in cars buy gas, food ect. Which means tax dollars for Smith Co.Everyone keeps talking about the people that live here supporting something well what I'm proposing will get support from adjoining towns which is what we need a "draw" business that the adjoining towns don't have.We already got beat out of liquor sales

i would come to a club in carthage all the time. Love to dance but not going to cookeville or lebanon just to dance but would definatly go to carthage. But don't think it will ever happen
