Lewis doesn't stand a chance getting his job back! Probably, will be Medley from Gordonsville.

I believe Mark Medley would make a great Director

I believe will be fair to every one

Wasn't he the principal in Gordonsville that quit in the middle of the year? Do we really want someone who quits under pressure?

Medley don't have a chance David Nixon has it sewn up. No chance that we get a deserving hardworking candidate, thats just not the smith county way of doing things. I was told Nixon already has enough votes to get it by more than one of board members. So if you don't think he is the person we need you better get to your board member and try to talk some sense into them.

Heard that school board would interview 6 of the 15 applicants. Don't know who the 6 will be. I figure the 3 in-county(Medley, Nixon,Lewis) will get an interview.

If he did not quit then please explain. Does he have any years in an administrative position? What makes he more qualified than someone who has 20+ years as a principal and even more within a classroom like Nixon? Anyone who gets the job should work for "both sides". We are the same school district so when one school fails or looks bad we all do. This thing about one side of the county thing is childish, and people need to learn to work together for the better of our students. I believe Nixon would have all of our students in mind with every decision, and would work hard for "both sides" of the county.

Great another POS Smith County native who doesn't have a fricking clue. Nixon is as big a jerk as the idiot we have now. We need new ideas, not the same old regurgitated crap. If not someone from outside this county then hire Medley. And Medley submitted his resignation during the mid year as principal because the job consumed his life at that point and time. Get over yourselves Carthage people. No one cares if that side of the river dries up and dies. Oh wait it is, isn't it? Businesses moving toward the interstate and where...GORDONSVILLE.

Who are the 2 out of state people the school board is going to bring in for an interview? I was thinking the paper said there was someone from Illinois and Kentucky that had applied.

What the public knows that it is time (5 years over due) for a change. We need to get someone that will help all students in the county not just a school or two. All children should be treated fairly. It should not matter what their family does or their last name. Put funds that directly help and benefit the children and not hiring another body to work at the board. How many people does it take to take pictures and to do a person's job? If you can't do your job then get rid of them and replace with someone who can. Quit adding more and more people to "assist".
The board will vote on what the public "tells" them and not what the public assumes. Make sure your opinion is heard and counted for. You can bet that Lewis has put pressure on his supervisors and principals to contact the board members and say that "things are going great, don't remove Lewis". When your job is at stake you will do as you are told. They are writing letters and making phone calls and so should we. Let the board members know that the public is tired of not having our phone calls answered, our questions and concerns not being addressed, our children's needs not being addressed and especially the "under the table deals". If the board memebrs do not hear from the public they have to assume everything is going OK. It is not!
Our tax dollars are being spent to educate our children, PLEASE let the money be spent on them.
Whoever the board chooses should put someone in office that will restort trust back in educating our children and respect for the office.
Make your voices heard.
