I am interested in other people's take on this.

Personally I think it will be a bust. Who wants to drive from place to place to simply taste the food?

It was much more convenient when all the vendors were together down on the square.

I don't see this bringing folks to downtown Cartersville.

Opinions?

Bad idea. The whole point of a Taste of city is to have everything together. What about restaurants that are not downtown? No, won't be going.

I am disappointed. We go every time they have the taste of Cartersville. We probably wont be going to this due to how it is set up and the fact that it is on thursday and friday, which just isnt reasonable for ppl who work. Having everything downtown in one central location was convenient and the atmosphere of the whole event was nice. It is now lost. I hate it for other restaurants that arent downtown because they will not be able to show what they have to offer. Disappointed we wont have a taste of Cartersville this season :(

I also think it is a bad idea. What does driving around town have to do with attracting shoppers to Cartersville???

They are whining about having to man two different places, then don't participate. Stay in your damn restaurant and watch the empty chairs.

I won't go if you have to travel all over the place. Hell no.
no way

No way will I go. I've been every time they had it but if those arrogant restaurant owners think I'm going one place to buy a ticket then drive all over the place, hell no I won't ever go back. Lazy ass shop owners think they are so special we'll jump through hoops just to taste their crap?? No thanks, count me as another who won't go

We also have been every time it was "Taste". This new format is flawed by design and we will not take part in it either

Tara Currier, your decision to be "progressive" was the stupidest decision you ever made. So Far! If they're shops can't handle two stations, then don't participate.

To the idiots who think we're going to chase you down to "sample" the food we have to pay for to begin with, bite it. Agans, Meg Pie, City Cellar, Appalachian Grill, all of you can shove it. I won't chase your restaurants down. Meg Pie sure isn't starting out on a good note with that attitude.

Another Cartersville venture ruined forever. Good job, Tara. Idiot. Note to all the restaurants that conned her into doing it this way and leaving it to her to come up with a good excuse.... you blew it good this time.

So it's a burden on downtown business...just like the downtown Trick or Treat is a burden (this will be the last year for it). How about we don't burden them any longer and eat and shop elsewhere. Buy Bartow my ass.

I sure as hell won't burden anybody so I'll stay away this year. To the ones who think I'm gonna buy tickets one place then chase you down all over town...KMA

Hell no I won't go back if this is the way they are going to do it. Pretty arrogant of the shop owners, I would say.

See that empty chair over there? That's where I would normally be sitting. Not anymore.

I'm glad all of you aren't going that will mean plenty of food for me to eat.

Surprise, you can only get one sample at each place. They will punch your card so you can't return.

Enjoy it all. Remember you gotta go downtown to get your ticket, then drive all up and down main street and side street to cash your ticket in.

Some of you are harsh! The Downtown Development Board tried something new. You don't want to go fine. All the restaurants try to participate in whatever happens downtown. Those owners you are throwing under the bus give thousands of dollars every year to many charities. Be civil you are speaking of YOUR downtown which is pretty amazing. Travel around check other historical downtown areas. Cartersville is a beautiful place with generous businesses.... show alittle class!

I understand the participant had to PAY for a booth in years past..200 bucks?.....then folks deposited tickets for food that they bought, tickets sold by the DDA and the DDA took their cut. In the end, it doesn't help boost their businesses and they are out of pocket for the booth, food and their time. If they were lucky they got paid for their food costs. Loser for the businesses but the DDA made some money. Don't blame the restaurants for being less than enthusiastic.

Besides....the folks complaining are probably wanting something for nothing. Go to John Boys. You get what you pay for....our downtown is still great without this event!
