I think every law abiding citizen should practice gun control...control of the firearms in his or her possession! Who among us with a brain thinks gun laws matter a hill of beans to criminals?

From what I was told by my child (a Freshman at Woodland), they watched CNN or CNBC? in one particular class and there so happen to be a discussion on tv about it. No one was pulled out of or into class and made to watch a movie. They were just watching the news.

Parents stand up and demand Fox News be shown during class!!

My children know our opinions and viewpoints regarding guns and our 2nd Amendment. We have guns in the house and my husband and I both carry at all times. They know they are for our protection and that it is our right to have them. We've discussed with them the recent home invasion with the mom that shot her intruder to protect herself and her 2 children. They know that we keep guns for our safety in this crazy world. I'm satisfied in the fact that my kids feel safe at home and in public with us. I'm not too concerned that some liberal news show is going to change MY kids opinion but I'm sure other kids can be easily swayed.

Your last sentence is the exact reason I raised the initial question in the first place. A friend of mine's child said they were taken out of class to watch the movie I mentioned in the first post. But regardless of my trust in the source, I wanted confirmation from someone else, but I don't know anyone else with kids at WHS. When my kids still had friends at WHS, they would hear about some of the liberal teachers there who were not content to teach, they also had to preach their point of view and the kids who didn't agree quickly learned to just keep their mouths shut or be derided in class. Now I know WHS is not the only school with teachers like that (my children had the same problem with a teacher at a different school), but WHS does have a "liberal" reputation - but not having had a child there, that may be an unfair description. I admit I am going on "hearsay."

She doesn't know about the upper grades...could it have been upper classmen? If she ever comes home and tells me a teacher is trying to force views or beliefs on her that differ from ours, I will be up at that school in a flash.

The social studies department head is a very liberal democrat and has been on public Facebook pages arguing that gun control is constitutional. It wouldn't surprise me to hear she was lecturing her classes on the evils of firearms and the NRA.

More guns = lower crime. Look @ citys (Chicago) with strict gun laws, 500 murders last year. How about the UK? Look @ their rate of crime, not just the "gun violence" is it higher or lower than ours? Do the research. You don't have to look any harder for proof that gun laws don't work. In dreamland where you could really do away with every gun would gun violence go down? Sure, then knife violence would skyrocket, after all knifes were taken away what would be next, hammers, bricks, big sticks?

Good, then you should want them to show Fox News so they can get something other than the White House party line. I'm all for kids watching both Fox and CNN so they can see both sides and see how CNN tailors its coverage to favor the Left.

Seriously wrote: <quoted text> Fox news should be taken off the air! they are extreme right wing. They are extremely opinionated, and they only tell the people what they want you to know! Fox should be shut down and Murdoch and his son should go jump off a bridge. Along with any other idiot who believes in FOX news. And as far as gun laws... Taking away our right to bear arms ISN'T GOING TO STOP THE KILLING! Killers aren't killers because they have access to guns. That's like saying fat people are fat because of knives and forks... Also, FYI if Obama isn't able to dispose of the 2nd amendment the next step will be to take away our ammo. What good is a gun without ammo? The second amendment says we have the right to arms but not the right to ammo... Be Aware! ABC should be taken off the air. They don't even try to hide their extreme liberal views. Diane Sawyer sits there almost having an orgasm every time they talk about obama. They are extreme left wing. They only tell the people what they want you to know, too. You are an idiot.
