I knew OF both families from various youth activities and I can't believe what I just read. Normally Brande/Patch is legit local reporting but this is uncalled for. I have kept an eye on this (Facebook/word of mouth/etc..) since the beginning and Patch is right about one thing: Something doesn't add up! There was some strange actions on the victim's family's side of things too.

The whole thing is just terrible for all involved and us as a community. I'm not trying to offend here and I 100% sympathize with Ms. Taylor but the WRONG thing to do is to turn this into a witch-hunt I think.

I'm just the type of person that appreciates THOROUGH reporting. Seems a little biased... Relatives of the Taylor's were going around town (I heard it at Cody J's where one of them worked) that they were getting money from a settlement. I'm guessing that's insurance right? Now I'm no expert here at all, but I have homeowners and it seems to me that they wouldn't have paid if something criminal happened. I could be wrong on that though. Anyone know?

Just read the article. Sheriff dept says the case is closed? Don't that mean that the boy is innocent until PROVEN guilty? I'm sure life has been rough on him too. I he was my child I'd be pissed! That's some bold accusations Veronica Taylor is making to the public!!

I know both families, and my child played ball with the two boys. They were truly best friends and always together. The families were even close. Really sad to me because I honestly thought these two families could heal together if anybody could. My heart hurts for the Taylors, and I cant imagine the pain they are going through. But I also hurt for the other boy as well. He is such a good kid. And his parents love Rob. I wish the bitterness would pass and they could find a way...that's what Little Rob would've really wanted. He was a boy full of love, smiles, and happiness...not bitterness and regrets.

I don't know either of the familys but my daughter went to school with Rob at Woodland Middle. I had to make her de-friend his facebook page because of the postings. Some were pretty hostile and there was too much of trying to get the kids involved. It was keeping her upset all the time. That's been about a year ago so I don't know whats been going on since. But from reading this, it sounds like I made the right call.

Yep. They were paid for an ACCIDENTAL death. And knowing insurance companies, I know they wouldnt just hand them a check for that amount of $ and say have a nice day. Im sure they did a investigation of their own before they paid up, and Im also sure the family had to sign saying they wouldnt pursue any further actions and accepted the findings and agreement with the insurance company. Its a legal process, people. They bought a house and a car and who knows what else. I wonder if she would be pursuing this this hard if she had to pay the money back. None of this will bring her son back unfortunately.

So I'm confused. Are they looking for answers, or do they know it all? Cause one minute she's on there saying "I just want answers" the next shes saying "if you only knew all that I know". So which is it?? No one is disputing the tragedy of her losing her son and no one is saying he doesn't matter and no one is competing with her daily struggle of losing a child. SHE'S the one making this whole thing about pure revenge. If she wants answers, give her answers. It's all in the police report and investigation. Give it to her. And then leave this boy alone and celebrate your son's life, not his death.

This has NOTHING to do with MONEY....the family needs closure and to have that is to find out exactly what happen that day...for some reason it's like a BIG secret....insurance companies pay out so that they can't be sued for more money....the case was closed in less than 24 hours...what kind of investigatin is that?.......everyone haste a right to their own opinion...BUT the Taylor family should not be bashed for wanting justice for their son...YOU would stand up for your child....there are too many families...too. Many moms and dads that live this nightmare daily...NO family should have to live this heartache..

Its really amazing to me how you people can get on here and find your self judging someone. This has absolutely nothing to do with revenge at the end of the day it is a matter of breaking the law. There are mulitiple gun laws in place to protect innocent victims from this same kind of tragedy but when it happens in this little back woods town than all laws are trown out of the window. I dont care what anyone says the laws were broke that day when my brother lost his life. Yep thats right Rob wasnt only a beloved son. He was a brother and an uncle and I cant believe the audacity of you all to get on here and talk about money. They can have all that back right now if they could being my family back to where we were two years ago. It has been pure hell and all we ever wanted were answers. And for the law to be upheld like it is anywere else in the state. Feel bad for the other family. There are times we all do but at the end of the day there was a crme committed in that house and everyone needs to understand that when you make a decision no matter what the decision is you will have to deal with the consequences related to that decision. A which hunt... I dont know one person who wouldnt do everything in their power to get justice for their child if the shoe was on the other foot. At the end of the day dont judge me or my family as you have no idea what we have been through. You are entitiled to your opinion as everyone is but you should really think before you just start posting about what you would do if you were us.

Sorry but the case is open...call the juvinile courts...it just happens that it's out of the sheriff's hands...Everybody needs to know, I have a lawyer...I can back up everysingle thing I say....Everything I say, I can back up! Amazing all the sympathy for the other family and none for Little Rob! You can say what you want about my family...blood money...all that..I will give every penny back to get Justice for Little Rob..Don't doubt it! It was never about Blood Money, always about the truth! I know there is going to be lot's of you who sympathize with the killers family and the killer...WHAT ABOUT THE VICTIM...his civil rights were violated..There was never a Full Inverstigation into what happened that day..I don't care what Jonathon Rogers says.....THE TRUTH WILL COME!!

Until you lose a child to this kind of violence you cannot even begin to imagine the grief! People act like the victim doesnt matter anymore because he's gone and are worried about the one who did it! There are consequences to actions! The grief of the victims family is something no one will understand unless you have lived it! So don't say they shouldn't do this or that until you have walked through that hell yourself! And as for financial gain, nothing can replace a loved one, money means nothing, it does nothing to fill that hole in your heart!

Not saying it will fill their heart or that they would rather have the money instead of their son. My point was it was not just the law enforncement that reviewed the case and deemed it a accident. The insurance company did too. And as stingy as they are (the ins co) they probably tried to prove it wasn't accidental or that there was neglect involved so they wouldnt have to pay. But that wasn't the case and it was found as a accident again.

I agree with bigredman. Remember him for the kid he was and don't celebrate his death.

To Rob's family, I'm sorry for your loss. May you find a way to go on in peace.

This is Robert Harvell Taylor III's father. My name is Robert Harvell Taylor II, my son was my namesake!!! He loved his family and baseball!! He was a amazing kid!!!! He was not quiet! He had a VOICE!!! His voice was silenced on December 29th 2010!! Everyone talks about the accused and what he is going through because of his actions that day!!! They want us to feel sorry for them? Their negligence is directly related to the loss of my son I know they are in defend their son mode!!! Well my son does not have a voice, my wife and I are his voice now and we are also in defend our son mode too......THE TRUE VICTIM!!!! You guys are more than welcome to your own opinions, but for you guys to judge us for wanting justice for our son is the craziest thing I have ever heard!!Tell me what would you do if it was one of your kids? My family is never going to be the same again!!! Do any of you guys know how it feels to not want to wake up, get up, or know that you have to go to work when all you want to do is cry for your son all day? Yes there was a settlement, which does not have anything to do with getting JUSTICE for OUR SON!!! I knew from that fateful day that it was not a accident!!! The only thing that we are guilty of is BELIEVING THAT BARTOW COUNTY WOULD DO THEIR JOB!!!! From the beginning Millsaps and Rodgers have lied to my wife and I many times!! I do not want to mess with GOD's JUSTICE!! But am I wrong for wanting MAN'S JUSTICE FOR MY ONLY SON? He deserved more and had rights that Bartow county has robbed him of!!! They are treating us like the criminals and the killer's family like the victim!!! All we want is JUSTICE FOR LIL ROB!!! Everyone can have their oppinion on this matter but do not judge my family unless you have walked in our shoes!!! You guys talk about the house we bought....We would rather live in a cardboard box and have our precious son back alive and well!!! I can not believe that you guys think that what we are doing is anything but to get justice for Lil ROb!!! Bartow county bungled this case from the first time they stepped into that house!!!! That is all I have to say..... Do not judge us unless you live the daily hell we do!!!!

Do any of you guys know what it feels like to have to take 10 pills just to be able to sleep on a daily basis? Do any of you know what to say to Lil Rob's nieces and cousins that he will never get to meet because of the neglience that happened on December 29th 2010? We finally get the strength to fight the cover up of our son's death and we get bashed by the public, who have no idea what we have found out or the evidence we had to find because the detective did not do his job!!! Go ahead and say your opinions!! We are now strong enough to fight for justice and no matter what you guys say it will not change the fact that we will continue to fight for our son!!!!!!

My faint understanding of these families is that they were close, the boys were best friends - Right? If you are so close of families, would you not know how the other family lives? And if you knew how that family lived, would you know there were guns in the house? If you knew there were guns, carelessly left around and you NOW wish to seek blame for that...why would you let your child stay there?
As a mother of an only child the same age, I would not let my child spend the night, or stay for the day without parents around. Just a decision I would make as the adult.
