Any suggestions not fond of chain restaurants.

You bring up a definite lack in this area, because if there is one I certainly don't know about it. This isn't what you asked, but the lunch menu at Golden City (located next to Belks) is excellent and very reasonably priced. $6-7 for entree, white or fried rice, egg roll and soup. The hot and sour soup is outstanding. You might also enjoy Moore's Market on Fite street. Welcome to Cartersville, I hope you are happy here.

Swheat Market is the place to go! The food at E Street Tavern is very good also. Their Sunday brunch was awesome!

I agree with E Street being really good.

If you go to Swheat Market for lunch you had best go by the bank first.

Thanks. I will try them all. As far as price I expect to pay more at smaller restaurants. I appreciate the info!

Longhorn has an excellent grilled chicken and zucchini sandwich, that can be paired with soup or a salad, and comes with their homemade chips and dip, for $6.99. I you have a lunch coupon, subtract $1.50. That is less than a Big Mac or Krystal Combo!

The E street Tavern has a Sunday brunch? I assume, because the place is so small, it's a menu deal and not a buffet. Correct? Do the have eggs benedict?

I love the Seven Pepper Sirloin Salad at Longhorn's for lunch even though it is not a local establishment.

I haven't been there, but have heard that Louie's Cafe is good. It's menu looks good. We work out of town so we don't do the lunch thing and tend to stay on the West Side if we go out at night, but it is worth a try. I do want to try it myself sometime.
Also, Scott's barbecue is good.$5 for a sandwich meal.

Scott's Bar-B-Q can't be beat for food quality or prices.

I think we are lucky to have such a good BBQ place locally.

I made it to Swheat Market. Fish Tacos were outstanding. I felt sorry for the woman behind the registar, they were very busy this man pretty much took her head off due to he had been there 20 min. Made a real fool of himself. She tried to refund him but he refused. A second later his meal was given to him. If you need a drive thru go to Wendy's. They seem to work as fast as they can considering the place was packed and all the staff were very polite, place is spotless. I will go back. Good for a small town supporting small businesses.

I agree the food is good; but when it costs $24 for two specials and two drinks that is just too much for lunch.

I think $10pp is a sufficient amount to have to pay for lunch in Cartersville and there are many places around town in that price range.

Just next door at The Cellar their lunch is $8 including drink.

Tried Moore Market very good. Tried The Cellar not impressed they have no traffic just drinkers. Seems more of a bar atmosphere. Not for me. Thanks for suggesting it though. I'll spend my $10 somewhere else.

The cellar is for drinkers cause the owner is a rude drunk, only drinkers can put up with his drunken crap, I hear he's on the way out anyway. GOOD
