That would be ok if all county employees get one! Judges have a very important job but so does those folks that keep your water on keeps the roads up and makes sure
The waste station are in operation. Are groceries cheaper for people that make 30,000 than those judges that are making 120,000. Now some would tell those lower wage job earrners if you don't make enough take a second job. Well the same could go for the judges get a second job. County employees are still getting furloughed come on don't rub salt in their wound

I agree, they are no better than we are to work 2 jobs. If they can't make it on 120 k per year they need to cut back the budget at home like we have had too!!

I think it is a bit early for a 10% raise when so many people are struggling. I do think the judges are underpaid; but there are many people who have not had raises in 5-7 years or more making far less money.

I vote for waiting a few more months.

Sounds like most responses to this line are likely users of the courts. You're all about the 'rule of law' until it applies to you. Don't pay them what they're worth and see what you get.

I have a question? Are the rest of the people that work for Bartow County also getting a raise? Say the people that clean the courthouse? And or the men and women that work for Bartow Transit? There jobs are just as important, would you like the general public to come into the court house and see nasty bathrooms and floors so dirty you were afraid to even walk on them... or the restrooms overflowing with tissue paper and no hand towels or soap with which to wash your hands. How would these judges like to have to clean their own bathrooms and stock them as well? There are people that work for Bartow County that are STRUGGLING and the only ones worried about getting more pay is the judges, seems to me that the judges need to get more cases done so that the hallways arent packed where you can't even walk through. There are cases that have been held up for several years because they have been hidden in some desk drawer! Try getting these cases dispersed and paying the other employees what they are worth and maybe they would be entitled to a raise, but STOP thinking about raises for yourselves and think about people that work harder than you do!! The Bartow County Transit is a very valuable service to those that cannot afford a vehicle they make sure that those that have dialysis appointments get there in time, those that have doctors appointments are there in time and for those that have to go to the grocery store or pharmacy or to pay their monthly bills or even to get them to college or their jobs or even taking Parolees to a mandatory class in Adairsville get there on time! It seems that maybe you could make sure that the people that operate this service would have enough full time employees and buses to make this a profitable entity of Bartow County!!

Are you kidding me? You people actually believe that someone who cleans the courthouse bathrooms, or fixes the pot holes in the street are on the same playing field that a court judge is? A judge has an extensive education, and deserves to be paid a salary that is competitive and in accordance with the laws that the job falls under. If you are going to whine and bitch about not getting a raise, and that county employees are under furlough feel free to educate yourself to the level at which you can be hired as a judge. Then you too can enjoy the pay raise that you worked so hard to get! Also, it is not the judges responsibility to make Bartow County a profitable entity... They are employees just like everyone else.
