You tried to pass it off as no big deal on the other topic a while back. I admire you for how you keep on and on defending the guy. He got caught, he was fined.
It seems to me Steve, or his daughter, you still don't want to admit he did wrong. Agree?
Certainly I agree that he did wrong. I can also honestly say that I have never met the man. Being familiar with the Ethics Commission, it should also be said that missing a deadline is something a whole bunch of candidates do and fines only come into play IF someone complains. It happened to both Sheriff candidates as well. All that being said, you ought to make an effort to meet the deadlines

It should also be said that a whole bunch of people rob minimarts every day. That doesn't make it right for one more to do it.

Interesting sense of proportion you have there comparing missing a deadline with armed robbery. But, you are right. It ought not to happen.

It was more like they decided to play with the dates to hide financial info from their opponents. They came to the WYXC forum with a sea of orange t-shirts and then acted like they hadn't taken in or spent any money before the filing deadline. Never mind the obvious photo evidence.

The Daily Tribune's policy appears to be never publish a story that makes their favorite sons look bad. That isn't journalism, that is propaganda.

Don't get me started on the incoherent stories with misspelled or improperly used words...I guess it is too much to ask for someone with knowledge of English grammar and spelling to proofread the articles before they publish the paper. Oh, who am I kidding, most readers don't even notice things like the use of the word expert when they obviously meant excerpt in the Sunday article on education.

Steve Taylor DID not miss a deadline. Steve ILLEGALLY collected contributions and ILLEGALLY spent money on his campaign. By state law a candidate CANNOT raise or spend money until the candidate has set up his official campaign committee and filed all the appropriate paperwork. It's all about honesty and transparency - he failed at both!
I agree

About Taylor, you are correct. They got caught. My question now is, since he got caught with that, what do you think he's going to do now that he's in office. I mean, he's already shown us what he's capable of doing, so that's what we should expect for the next few years. Well, Bartow wanted him, let them start wailing when it blows up in their face.

The Daily Tribune is what it is. A local paper with local stories, but they can't run the same stories over and over. They always print stories for our group{The Cartersville songwriters Exchange} when we have an event. I like the paper and use it to keep up with local events. It's not to different from the local papers in other towns I've lived.

Sorry, but a local newspaper is more than just running local feel good stories. While an important part of the newspaper's mission, a local paper is held to a higher calling to keep the public informed about what is happening with our local governments - and that means doing investigative reporting and publishing truths that might be unpopular with those in power. Johnette Dawson is a coward.
