If you have a few minutes, take the test at the link below. It's a civics test that should give you an idea of what you know about our Country. I was gratified to know that I could actually pass it :) Take it, see how you do and you don't even have to post your score...or you can lie and say you aced it. Have some fun.

That was very interesting and very depressing when you look at the percentage correct on many of those questions. I am not surprised how many people really do not understand free enterprise and capitalism, it explains so much about how politicians can demagogue the issue.

Thats because Capitalism is a thing of the past, the few sucking the life out of our country so they have have a bunch of shit, cars, boats, prostitutes, cause their wives quit putting out years ago. Money is fine, but like everything else, the key is moderation, GUNS AND MONEY, giving the dickless man a false sense of superiority

So Educated thinks that even if you can afford it you should not own a car or boat. How jealous can you get?? I think what he's trying to say is, if you can afford "shit" like a car or boat, you should give the money to him instead. Sickening isn't it?

well weird let me enlighten your dumb ass...My house is paid for, my car is paid for, my motorcycle is paid for, my land in Costa Rica is paid for...stupid bastards like you who pay banks to take your hard earned cash are the fools... Jealous I am not, a realist I am. My point was people who have to have way more than they need, If I don't need it I don't have it, if I can't pay cash for it, I don't own it.... Those Capitalist you like so much are sucking you dry

"Thats because Capitalism is a thing of the past,". Thank you for illustrating perfectly my point about the ignorance too many people display when it comes to the engine that has driven this country to levels of prosperity the world has never seen. Now if we can just elect politicians who will quit trying to micromanage and stifle the entrepreneurial spirit of the common man who has a dream to build his own business and achieve that prosperity for himself, there might still be hope for this country.

And should you choose to refute my statements, I respectfully request you refrain from profanity and baseless insults and address the actual issue.

Exactly my point, the politicians stick their noses in where they don't belong. One example, banks are not in the business to make loans, they make loans to people they deem good risks in order to make money. When they make money, they hire more employees and make more loans, which could be to start a business, which will create jobs. The good home loans banks make allow people to buy homes and when people repay those loans with interest, then shareholders earn dividends from their investments in the bank. Those dividends are the reward they receive for the risk they took in their investment. When the govt comes in and demands banks make loans to people who can't afford those loans, we have the beginning of the housing crisis and much of the financial disaster we have seen. Is that over simplified, yes. But the bare bones are accurate and that is just one example.

are you kidding me...Govt didn't made these stinking banks loan this money...greed did. Banks are crooks, plain and simple, Hell look at the failed banks here in Cartersville, and yet the bank officers suffered little, while the stock holders took it in the butt. Greed, plain and simple. To bad bankers and investment counselors are to damn stupid to look at the future, at the expense of the customer... Right. Now even those with excellent credit have to jump through hoops to get a loan. Thankfully I will never have to deal with another bank as long as I live........ and don't even get me started on cut throat loser investment brokers, counselors, crooks, whatever you want to call these fools who think they know more than the fools whose money they are risking........ problem here is people are to stupid to do a little research, and to make their own investments....... kinda like the fool who thinks he can't fix the plumbing, just takes a little reading and a little work...the rest is history..then if it fails who do you blame..yourself. Banks will fail, counselors will be un employed, stupid people will be crying the blues........ I LOOK FORWARD TO THE DAY

Sorry, but your denying the truth doesn't negate it. Under the Carter administration the Community Reinvestment Act was passed, but not really acted upon until the Clinton admin. Then the Comptroller of the Currency spent almost two years revising it and then the Clinton Justice Dept started pushing it. The idea of requiring banks to spend a great deal of their resources in their own communities may sound good, but is a great example of govt meddling in affairs it knows little about. banks began making loans they knew were risky to avoid the Justice dept coming down on them over supposed "redlining". The Bush admin started pushing for greater regulations over mortgage companies risky loans, with emphasis on investigating Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Barney Frank and Chris Dodd stopped that in it's tracks (and benefitted from lovely campaign contributions and sweetheart loans) and we all know the result.

in 2003, the Bush admin tried to create a regulatory agency over Fannie and Freddie, but faced too much Democratic opposition in Congress to succeed. In 2005, the House Republicans tried to pass the Housing Finance Reform Bill, but it died in the Senate. in 2008, the Bush admin took over Fannie and Freddie trying to stop the hemorrhage, but it was too late.
