When they built that big building, they should have known they were not going to make it in this economy. Too much overhead.
Now if they could see into the future then there would be no reason to even be in the furniture business, would there?

Kimmbo you are full of s***. They can't make the mortgage that's why it's being foreclosed on.
Crazy you need to pay attention to your surroundings. There are groups of businessmen having meetings about Hamilton and Ozarks beacuse they are calling their notes due when they are current! The banks are using the excuse that the "loan to value" isn't enough and demanding more money. When it is paid, they want more! if it isn't paid...LAWSUIT first, foreclosure sometime down the road? Totally immoral, but not illegal!

They are having a liquidation sale. Liquidation means you have to turn all of your inventory into cash (liquify) before you can file bankruptsy.

That is correct; but the wording in those notes stated that it could be called due at any time and they knew that when they signed it. I don't like that; but that is the way it is.

Looks like all of you were wrong about Nelson's closing. They are actually expanding their business and spending ALOT of money remodeling the old Pugs Rugs building. Glad to see a local business thriving like this.

From what I hear, the Nelson's big store across from Home Depot was foreclosed on by the bank. They were forced to move into the much smaller old Pug's Rug's building. That's not thriving... that's just hanging on by your fingernails

Who would buy their crap anyway? The sales staff in there treat you like you're bothering them when you ask a question, no wonder people quit buying from them.

The "new" place still has an empty parking lot...at least when I pass it to and from work. Didn't they use to be on main st once upon a time?

The FDIC is 100% industry funded. All banks that are covered by FDIC insurance pay insurance premiums and these premiums are in turn used to pay for the failed banks and loss share agreements. The Federal Government is not paying for this. People get confused because the FDIC is backed by the Federal Reserve but it has never dipped into Federal funds.
Looks like old Harry and Jimmy were dipping!

In today's Cartersville Daily Tribune legal notices section, Hamilton State Bank has foreclosed on Nelson's Appliances & Home Furnishings, and also a separate foreclosure on Dolph F Nelson Jr. Looks like the shoe has finally dropped.

The shoe had already dropped, that was the reason they moved out of the store.

They are trying to sue Dolph personally and take his house on Charles St.

Hamilton State Bank where you can get effed without being kissed first!
