I already filed a complaint with the BOE however Ive about had it with Cass High!!! My daughter was involved in an altercation with a football player there where he was saying rude inappropriate things to her and grabbed her so she stabbed him w a pencil. Which she has been taught to defend herself. He took her to the ground and my daughter bite him. I get a call saying my daughter is suspended for 10 days for defending herself and the football player got no punishment. Im disqusted!!! Is this really what our schools have come to, stand up for sports players and allow everyone else to be treated unfairly? When I asked Mr Nelson what he expected my daughter to do when he grabbed her he stated tell a teacher, when all this is takin place Im sure nobody thought hold on lets take a break so we can inform a teacher..lol He took up for the boy and stated it was ok for a boy to handle a girl in defense.. Guess he beats his wife at home and its ok in his eyes..SMH She will be transferring out of his school before Jan..

Well have you filed a police report? I'm willing to bet you didn't. I would just sit at the computer and bitch about it on topix if I were you. I'm sure THAT will get something done. LOL

If he grabbed her, touched her, or anything like that, it's assault. I'm figuring there's a lot more to the story that you aren't telling, which is why you didn't call the police. Please fill in the blanks, the rest of the story, that you aren't telling is, then we'll discuss it.

I have a daughter. I would never handle such a matter on a public blog. It is your Jon to protect her. Attacking the priciiple is not protecting your daughter.

You are right. I smell something wrong here that she's not telling us.

I have a student at CHS, along with other students saw this incident. Your daughter put her hands on the player first. she attacked him. Biting & using a pencil to stab. 10 days suspension, you are lucky that is all your daughter got. If I were you, I would leave good enough alone & teach your daughter anger mangement skills. People are not going to always be nice, but we cannot physically attack them,

You should be very lucky your daughter was not charged and put behind bars. Remove your behaviorally challenged kid from Cass High. I am sure the students and faculty will not mind at all. Sounds like she was not raised to act like a nice young lady.

I filed a police report, and even the police said he has been in trouble before.. When I was in school they wouldnt allow troubled students to participate in sports. Anyway, this is the first time my daughter has ever been in any trouble. That football team sucks anyway guess they need better non convicted players

Your daughter sounds like a brat with a temper. One day some student is going to meet her away from the school grounds and beat the shit out of her and you're going to wonder why. Get your daughter help she needs it

This is not the first incident where an athlete got preferential treatment by Michael, but that's how it worked when he was a student at Cass. For such a nice guy he is crooked!

I dont care much to add to what has been said above.
I will say this. Michael Nelson is a bully who favors the popular kids. As a former popular student of his I saw just how unfair and unreasonable he was. It was not until I got older I realized what a kook my old pal was.
He was a loser when he was at Cass High and is reliving his glory today. Good job, Michael. Punk.

If the girl started the whole thing, he should have " told the teacher" not slam the girl to the ground.

At what point should he have told the teacher? While she was stabbing him with the pencil? Or should he have waited till she finished the entire assault on him, then reported it? Since you say "he should not have slammed her to the ground", that's his only other choices

The quote below came from the original poster.

Just stating that what's good for the geese is good for the gander.

So she was stabbing the boy? It read like she only stabbed him once.
