This just like the sheriff campaign. It's over so why keep bashing? I have been very vocal about my dislike for Taylor as choice of commissioner since this campaign started, but that's now in the past.

Taylor won, Bearden lost, time to move on. I wish Mr. Taylor the best and he deserves the support of everyone of us in the county. Every opponent in every race in georgia that lost made a courtesy call to the winner congratulating them.

My candidate lost, Mr. Taylor won. Congratulations, Mr. Taylor. Good luck.

We Appreceate that Voter. I worked on Steve's campaign and also am related to him. I hope you will give Steve your support and never hesitate to call on him if needed for a county issue. Not just because I'm his relative, but he is a good guy and will work hard for Bartow County!!

The Bearden team and supporters wish Steve the best moving forward. Bartow is a special place and we will all work together to get behind him in moving the county forward. Congrats to the Taylor campaign.

I put up signs for Bearden and worked as hard as I could to get him elected but he lost I am not happy but that is the way it works in America. I have lived here for 65 years and I also wish Mr Taylor the best because if he does good we all benefit.

Man you are right on and I think old Chip beat one of our Local Banks out of Millions and helped put them out of business. And the both of them still such up to him. And old Loudermilk is big on the constitution but in this last session he sponsored a bill that would limit our First Amendment Rights Check it out and the Tea Party was against it and stoped it in the House. Barry people in Bartow are not stupid we know what goes on in Atlanta. You may not beleive in Public Education I heard you home school your kids.
All who know anything about history knows that Public Education made this country what it is today. Lets look at doing more for our teachers and less about building new buildings. And Barry we are still waiting on Cabelo's in the north end of the county.

<quoted text>I'm with ya Melvin. Both candidates (1 in primary & 1 in runoff) that Loudermilk supported lost. Don't know if I would want an endorsement from him, his candidates always seem to lose!! If he and Coomer continue to attack public education and play partisan politics, they may not fair as well next election. That's one thing "we the people" & "the establishment" can agree on. Remember you two "the establishment" is the majority!! We sent you to represent us not play partisan politics. We didn't send you to Atlanta to be the voice for Chip Rogers, we sent you to be ours.

With dirty deeds what goes around comes around. Karma. The Bartow GOP and it's puppet masters Loudermilk and Rogers (regarded state-wide as sleazebags) have built up so much bad Karma it would be hard for any true Christian man to even comprehend what they have been behind. A few people know about the corruption in the Gordon Co. GOP but recently we've found out that there's actually more of a "power concentration" of sleeze brokers here originating in Bartow Republican politics. Anyone who doesnt see that Loudermilk/Rogers is trying to build the ultimate cronyist in-circle by building a fire-wall between anyone in the Republican party who isn't in their pocket like Taylor, Sullivan, Battles, Gray, the list goes on.

Or just keep lookin the other way and let these extremists who want to dismantle public education and fire all county workers while outsouring it to private companies there connected to for profit do their thing and have rallies and election night parties for their favorite lapdogs at our GOP headquarters.

I hope some certain people are thinking about getting ready to rise to the task and challenge these men on their hokey image and hypocrisy come 2014. There are a LOT of folks who are ready to cast their protest votes.

Wow, you sure do know how to turn logic on its head.

Loudermilk is an honorable man. His constituents know it. There is no "GOP establishment", and no one wanted to fire anyone. Loudermilk has never engaged in dirty politics of any kind. If he had, the local moderates would have jumped into the race this year and tried to unseat him.

Is it not enough for you that you won this election? Enough already with the "trash talk." Bearden and his supporters have been gracious in defeat. Taylor's supporters need to be equally gracious in victory. Your poor character is shining through.

Congrats to Commissioner Taylor. I was a Bearden Supporter but will gadly support Mr. Taylor in his pursuit to make Bartow one of the best counties in Georgia. Had a good time sparring with you gents on here. Will miss the back and forth. Maybe we can pick it up in the next election.

Onward and upward!

I'm a conservative Democrat who hated seeing my party turned into an embarrassment while local politics goes to county GOP leaders who have been working since the early 2000s to push out the moderate Republicans who are the only ones I will vote for now (always leave my ballot box blank for Loudermilk in Primarys or in the Gen.- doesn't deserve my vote) It came to a head this year when the HQ that all candidates should use equally since the qualifying fees they pay go partially to the state party for their resources. The Bartow Politics thing doesn't help out the image of the party either as not being hopelessly and shamefully divided. Fred Kittle's party at the smokehouse with his "dignitaries" which was a whos-who of who wants to kill public education in NW Georgia was a joke for someone who's ambition is to try to manage the public schools. He obviously wants to get in there and keep running it down the crapper so that people will be forced to accept the charter schools that Rogers' serves to make millons on.

I hate that these goons treat Bartow voters like they are country bumpkins who can be reassured with "Oh.. he's an honorable man.. trust me.. he even wrote a book about praying!". WE ARE WAYYYY SMARTER THAN THAT LOUDIE.

As for your "honorable man" thing, perhaps you should read this: http://nwgeorgiavoice.com/barry-loudermilk-et...

I want to congratulate my really good friend Mr. Steve Taylor, our next commissioner. I am honored to hand over my baton to such a qualified man. He has a dear family and we are all proud of him.

Secondly, if you have any potholes that are deeper than 6 inches then simply sign up on this website.(Please don't list Paulding County potholes.) We will try to have a pothole fixing day before I leave, as we have done 1 day a year for each of my 20 years as your commissioner.

Thank you all. Clarance

You cite a left-wing nutjob website that is run partially by Dylan Patrick.

Nice try, that story is so full of untruths I don't even know where to start.

Why don't you do us all a favor and revive the Democrat party so you will stop trying to make the Republican party into Democrat Lite?

I don't really know who this Howell or Dylan Patrick is other than people constantly throwing out names and that they are always commenting on CU but if it's true he was on Chippy's radio station and had the balls to reject political bribes and sell out to using his voice for their taking points, then he's someone I would vote for no matter what party hes in. It figures you insecure GOP lapdogs would call him a queer for not selling out and spewing their far, far out in rightfield garbage.

If kissing Tommy Young's arse to be on 1450s red-headed step-brother radio station is a loss of opportunity then this place has pretty shitty opportunities.

Billy, Bartow County Bank had almost $100 million in bad loans. Chip's loan was for only $2.5 million and he ended up paying back half that amount. So to say he put BCB out of business is ludicrous. Why would BCB agree to let Chip only pay half? Becaus BCB was also guilty in how they handled the loan. That's why there was a suit and countersuit. And Barry Loudermilk had absolutely nothing to do with Cabela's. They pulled out because Sonny Perdue refused to grant them an exception to Georgia tax law.
