You should have stuck more to trying to learn better English and punctuation. Just food for thought.

To be "PC", there not all Mexicans as you say. I believe we should describe as Hispanic and they come from all countries. However I do agree with you. If your going to work in society, you should speak clearly and confidently the native language.

Idiots post a thread complaining about people not speaking english and they can't even spell the language. Then blame it on a phone. Lol, get real.

I am all for anyone coming to America for a better life. However, I am a firm believer in doing things the right way. Become a citizen if you choose to make America your home. Learning the language is a step that needs to be taken. I am quite sure if I moved to another country, they would not cater to me and allow me to "press one for english".

It's funny that my smartphone doesn't do that. It makes a letter a capital letter if need be and it uses the correct punctuation. But blame the phone. It's all good.

I have travelled all over the world and been a teacher in five countries. In my opinion, some peoples & cultures value learning & knowledge and some do not.
Generally speaking, Hispanics are not an education-oriented people. The proof of this is that only (I think) 5% of Hispanics in America have a B.A. compared to around 30% for whites and 50% for Asians. Therefore, no one should be surprised that Mexican-Americans are slow to learn English and that 99.5% of Mexicans in Mexico cannot speak English at all. To cite a hackneyed phrase,'It is what it is."

Official statistics place the percentage for Hispanics in America having a B.A. or higher at 13% rather than 5%, which is still quite low. As you say, though, Asians are, by far, the members of the American population with the greatest number of college degrees (30%).
