Veteran's Day ceremonies in the South Bay/Harbor Area

Veterans Day ceremonies honoring military veterans past and present will be held Wednesday throughout the South Bay and Harbor Area at the following locations: Carson A tribute to veterans will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Veterans Park, 22400 Moneta Ave., Carson.

On this day, and every day we should be grateful and proud of the service of the men and women that serve our country. My heart aches for the people in Texas that experienced warfare on our soil and for the family and friends of our people serving all over the world currently. A big thank you for yhe veterans that served in the past and to those who sacrificed it all. A sincere thank you to all.

If you served, you deserve.

Over 2,000 veterans died last year because they could not afford medical care while we argued over health care reform.

While the argument continues, one thing I think we can all agree with is that those men and women who commit their lives to protecting our country deserve our care for life. After all, it's their life they volunteered to surrender if the time came.

If you served, you deserve. Next time you meet a politician, make it a point to tell them that.

VFW Post 2967, Wilmington,CA. Veterans Day celebration was a total success, it was a full house, the music was wonderful and every one had a good time. Thanks to Honor Guard Capt. Art Rodriguez who headed the event and all who helped him. Congratulations on a job well done.
