Maybe they don't want to burn down the dried brush surrounding areas.

Go to Lawndale on the 4th. the illegal stuff flying and blowing up is off the hook!

If it goes airborne and explodes, it will be in Lawndale and El Camino Village.

I see a lot of people grab a 12'er and some fireworks at 7-11 and go t0 Alondra Park across the street and have a fine time, not that is legal but it doesn't seem to stop anyone.

I'll pass buying the stuff, I burn all my money in diesel these days.

because they dont have the resources to have it on a weekend night. and because fireworks are legal to shoot off here, now the city gets a cut of both things.

Don't get caught with the illegal fireworks. Two years ago LASO ran a sting in Lawndale, sneaking up on foot and catching a childhood friend of mine. They cuffed him and took him off to a make shift processing center at Rogers Middle School. They had plenty of people there. I think his fine was just under $2000, and yes, he had to pay.

lol, same thing happened to our neighbor, spent the night in the gym with lots and lots of people. He said aside from the money, it wasnt to bad. Same here Biff, no problems, well besides the occasional tagging on my car, writing in the dirt on my windows. But for the most part it is very very quiet, on this side of manhattan beach blvd anyway.
