Exactly. Have you seen all the negative feedback and complaints about those free haircuts on the JCP facebook page? Hundreds of complaints even some with pictures of hack jobs. A woman said her child was burned, some showed pictures of kids who were cut and bleeding and more. I wouldn't take my kids there.

i didn't want to mention it but it's all true. The haircuts are going horrible for the children especially the boys, the girls sometimes its not as noticeable but its bad. And to think people pay for these haircuts. i just hope its not on purpose.

I burned myself out for JCP. and was laid off. i cleaned up lice every day and had to buy my own anti-lice shampoo.

What does your customers bringing in lice have to do with your getting laid off? Why didn't you turn away those customers who showed up with lice? That's a public health safety issue. Would have saved you on purchasing anti lice shampoo, which I would never want put on my own child's head. Did your customers know you were using that on their children? Yikes.

They didn't wash the kids hair. Most times they didn't even spray the kids hair with a water bottle. No one from Penneys was washing kids hair with anti lice shampoo, the stylists had to buy the anti lice shampoo to use on themselves.

Oh, that makes more sense that the shampoo was for the stylist's use for her/himself. I know at our store an entire family showed up with lice and the store cited health regulations and didn't accept the family as customers. My nine year old granddaughter got a shampoo and it took the stylist a long time to comb out her long, wavy thick hair. She was only supposed to get a trim. I gave the stylist a very large tip. From my understanding very few customers gave any tip at all. I was very pleased with the service at our jcp and I think the stylists were handed some very challenging situations. It was supposed to be for K through 6 but I sure saw a lot of kids younger then that in there when I walked by. I brought my grandson a couple weeks later and again, I did not witness or hear about our local jcp of any of the horror stories that seem to be hitting the FB waves.

crazy: I thought I heard that they put the stylists back on commission recently. I do know the free hair cuts ended on Feb 1st. The free ones were only on Sundays and all the stylists didn't work every Sunday. They rotated Sundays. Sunday was traditionally their slowest day of the week so it made sense to choose that day to try this promotion out.

New stylists are being hired at jcp and they are bringing in their loyal customers from the previous establishments they worked at. I have seen the salon as a revolving door for the majority of stylists. There are some who have been there decades, but there sure have been many more who have come and left over the years. I think that is common in this biz of hair styling where the stylists jump ship until they find the right place for them.

Hmm, wonder if Ron gets his hair cut there, on wait, he makes something like $4,000 and hour, most likely he shops at Nordstoms, do they offer free haircuts? Is there a runway near for the cooperative jet to land? Ah, most likely that $$$ hotel he stays at when flying into work has an in room hair stylist . He hasn't cut back on this lifestyle, this is one thing that is shocking, that no one has told him to tighten his belt.

Commission? Not on the floor staff, was taking away. Why would anyone work for a company like this when they only offer "commission recently" . JCP is now built around the 39.99 hour employee, with minimum staff as possible. This doesn't get the best and brightest to work for you, it gets the desperate, those "return commissions" can easily be taken away as soon as Ron needs another company savings, or his new idea doesn't work out, Ron doesn't pay for his mistakes, others do.. Unhappy, underpayed employees makes for bad service. Let's see, a stylist that rents space aka a chair from a non franchised place vs JCP and put up with their crap. One is in business for themselfs, has a vested interested in your haircut, the other needs to clear a good profit for Ron, and be free., hmm, switch one, switch one? Given the upscale $$ crap JCP sales, are you so cheap to get a free haircut? Yes JCPs new product lines in their new areas will put a bigger dent in your gas/food money. Take a good hard look.

The problem with JCP it doesn't know what te hell it is, food court, juice, coffee; library for sitting, kid's Lego play area; free haircuts? How about stocking it with merchandize average middle America wants and re-become a retailer again? Yeah, I wan a free haircut, juice, coffee, sitting area in my local Lowe's, please, my life revolves around Lowe's. No, I want mechanize piled high and deep, to find what I want, I don't want a wooden unpainted front door laid out with a bucket of orange paint sitting beside, with a guady door knob pulled from another area, telling me this is what I want, this is the new thing for the next 2 months, according to JCP. There is a differents between style and magazine , JCP, driven fad.

What JCP's real problem is fat Ron. Maybe Ron could get prostitution legalize, he could offer that service, would go well with the free haircuts. Hell, he most likely would just add it to everyone's job decription, no commissions.

James: You obviously have not seen a picture of Ron Johnson. In every video I have seen of him, he looks like a trim is on order for that crop of hair of his. I think you must have missed the post that the free haircuts ended Feb 1st. They served their limited purpose and that was to help create some more traffic in the stores.

Most of what you wrote has already been written by various people and nothing you said is new or anything surprising. We have heard it all before.

JCPTM why is your user name surrounded by green?

In any case the outrage about ron is all about his ruining so many peoples lives, while he gets wealthy. Obviously his reinventing retail has been a disaster. People like me hate what he has done. Honestly that never occured before.

Ron needs to resign or be fired before theres no hope of penneys surviving but honestly I think its already to late

Not so, they are hiring stylists fresh out of school that would have no following. These new stylists are expected to act as receptionists and 'may' occasionally get the opportunity to do hair.

I work in the salon at a jcp and the health department told us that it is up to the store manager if the stylists have to deal with lice.our manager made the stylists finish the haircut still.parents dont care they want a free haircut is all

I am sure they are doing that, too. I had an acquaintance show up at our store last week asking where the salon was. She said her stylist of many years was working at jcp now and she always follows this particular stylist. That is one exception to your steadfast rule that jcp would hire anyone other then someone brand new out of school.
