With Carrollton and Farmers Branch both being able to play together under one board in Carrollton. I am lost why there are not more kids playing baseball. I see kids all over the neighborhoods not doing anything but sitting around. Money, maybe that has to due with it. Little League in Carrollton offers scholarships to those in need. This is a wonderful enviroment and I challenge parents from around the area to come down and visit us. Our Fall season is going on now. Carrollton Little League plays there games at Thomas Fields off of Perry Dr. Come out and participate and have a chance to represent the great city of Carrollton in Little League District Play, and maybe have a chance of going on to the Little League World Series. We look forward to current and new residents to come down and visit.

My son played Little Leage for several years, but the draft and other archaic rules really made it difficult to continue. My son started playing on a team in LL when he was 5, but he wanted to play with his friends. We loved the umpires, but each year fewer and fewer teams registered. We always made all-stars, but with so few teams to play against in carrollton, we never did well. Finally, the LL board said we either had to split up our team and go into the draft or leave the league. So, we moved to Carrollton Pony. We play in Pony in spring and fall leagues, they have multiple divisions and many of teams that they can match up in the divisions. We really miss Little League, but we got pushed out.

PONY league is losing its luster. The Carrollton Little League is picking up momentum. The 11-12 All-Stars won district in 2009. This was possible due to a group of parents, coaches, administrators and umps that work behind the scenes to bring Carrollton baseball back to greatness. It would be great to see some of the parents bring their boys out to enjoy this brand of baseball. Some of the more advanced boys take part in tournaments as well as little league games. It's a great environment. Hope to see everyone out a the ballpark! http://carolltollb.org

Little League Baseball is a wonderful outlet for children. It not only teaches them the game of baseball and sportsmanship, it also teaches children how to work with others as a team, to respect authority, and understand in order to get something out you must put something in. Over the past 15-20 years select baseball teams started poping up, and although they teach the same, they also allow a child to compete against stronger competition. With this being said... it has shortened the registrations for Little League Baseball in such cities as Carrollton and Farmers Branch, not to mention other in and around the metroplex. Both leagues have their pros and cons, I have coached for many years myself in both leagues at one time or another and find Little League to be somewhat more laid back in the sense of it being slightly less competitive and more fun and family oreinated, where as in select ball, the teams are playing in many tournaments on a weekly basis which creates a more competitive and win win win atmosphere. In either case it's just a matter of what you want for you child, I personally recommend them both, playing ball keeps kids off the street and keeps them in good overall company which allows them to develop as we would all like our kids to... good abiding citizens of our community. I don't see how bringing in a Select Team to play in Little League so that their association can finally win district, constitutes any type hard work and loyalty from this league and parents. The rules seemed to have been stretched, and wasn't fair for the other rec teams in the league. BTW, where is Little League's President now??

Daily Horoscope for December 11

Sagittarius

Moodiness is never far away today, making you over-react to problems and giving you a tendency to take out your feelings on your nearest and dearest. If someone asks you what's really wrong, you'll struggle to explain and may even have to give up because you can't put it into words. It's like an itch that you can't scratch, and you don't know where it stems from or what it means.
