In this age of identity theft and the business of using one's personal information against a person; I think getting too nosey is just wrong.
Why even have a life or have it make a difference if it is not yours alone?

Dinah wrote: <quoted text> I totally agree with you. This is my feeling on the matter. When you have simple laws to benefit the populace and you don't enforce them but make them a joke; this is what you get. Funny thing is people don't seem to realize that LAWS do not protect them. We have LAWS out the wazoo. It's when they are not enforced, and people are unaware that some may already exist in a simpler form that we get MORE oppressive laws. Perhaps if the past presidents democrat or republican with more assistance of the UN took terrorism seriously years ago this issue would not be in debate. I don't know anyone who wants their privacy taken away just as I know nobody really wants to die either. Just hope we get a handle on terrorists where they really are and perhaps we can put everything back into a close to normal perspective again before they start putting cameras in our bathrooms.

The US has been kinda safe for the most part. getting hit back in 93 and then 2001 was for the mostpart the first time we have been hit. But the rest of the world has been dealling with it for decades. It was only a matter of time before we got hit. As for security, Just think for a minute ok? If they are going to hit us again there is little we can do to stop them. If someone whant to do it bad enough they will do it. It is folly to think that every plot can be stoped.

I understand your point, however now terrorist are taking it to another level in which case we may end up having to stop every attack especially if chemical warfare is involved. These terrorists freaks prefer to die than live and they want to bring every down with them, they must be stopped!

It has left us in a bit of a catch-22 situation. Personally, I have no problem with the surveillance of international communications. It's a big difference from project Eschelon, Clinton/Janet Reno's FBI surveillance of all texts and cellphone calls, emails, and landline domestic communication of American citizens for political purposes. When the ACLU defends turban inspections at airports as a violation of rights, but I have to take off my boots, I think the PC police need to take a breather. RICHARD X wrote: <quoted text> Unfortunately, if attacks do continue and gain both in frequency and magnitude, the answer will be one we won't like. Well, some of us won't like it, me for one. It will come down to identifying and surveilling, if not just deporting, all middle easterners. As we saw in Germany this week though, all terrorists are not middle easterners. Europeans and Americans are, for some reason beyond my comprehension, turning to radical Islam. This is going to compound the problem ten fold. If they are successful in conducting another attack as great as the World Trade Center. I think we're going to see some draconian measures enacted.

Have you seen the email that Snopes picked up on Hillary's statements? http://www.snopes.com/politics/clintons/marxi... It is hard to tell whether Karl Marx or Hillary said it.

Now this is crazy Uzbecks and Chechens or causcasioins are participating and terrorism. One thing we do know is that many are practicing terror training in Pakastan. If people want to convert to Muslim that's fine, why must they choose to join the radical Muslims that are terrorists? I can't imagine the answer to that qustion, how warped can one be. I begin to wonder how draconian measures would be used if terrorism becomes totally muliti-cultural, that would make the term anarchy an understatement as it would become total chaos. The UN better step on the gas peddle on this issue or it ain't gonna be pretty.

Do not rely on the UN. They cant do a damn thing right. They have failed at every turn. These attacks will not stop it does not matter were they happen, you can not stop somebody hell bent on it no matter how much some would like to think otherwise. I just am not willing to give up liberty for sucurity. And I dont want to offend but I was not and will never be afraid of what went down back in 2001. See I think that if you live in fear then they did win.

In my cowardly ways of more than 100 street fights as a juvinille delinguent not to mention a pro boxer in Hawaii I sure can see many brave people with a big voice but when you see your life is ready to say by by your song will change to keep me alive, read my other blogs about blood squirting out my neck and then you can sing OK Mr. Hero, no offense everyone else is brave with words, I'm used to it. I love romantic people but when you know your going to die "now" you will be humble your opinion.

I almost drown to death. And have had my share of street fights, and I to can inflict massive damage to others. I can say that I will never live my life in fear. That is no way to live. I am not nor will I ever be scared because of what went down in Ney York in 2001.They win if you do. This is about living life not running away to hide. I REFUSE to do that.

I did not know I assumed anything about your calibur on this post but this discussion was about the privacy act, living in fear is not quite the same however it sure makes people think. If you would like to discuss fear I can tell you all about it! fear was a big part of my life, it's also the fear that allowed me to be smarter, faster, and more aggressive that enabled me to conquer pretentious warriors. Fear makes people acknowledge the situation at hand, if your not afraid of terrorists then you will put your guard down and it will be over sooner then later, in this case I'm not just talking about you I'm talking all the women and children as well.

I guess we all love that quote by Patrick Henry " Give me Liberty of give me Death", funny though he had slaves and some of them fought for the British because the British promised the slaves freedom, go figure?

RICHARD X wrote: <quoted text> What I mean by draconian measures would, in a sense, actually be more of what's already going on. Camera's everywhere, RealID program. Being stopped on the street by police, for an ID check will soon become commonplace. Pass through metal detectors in all buildings, not just government one's will be the norm. Infrared thumb print readers will be required for everyday transactions. Your car will store speed and mileage data, possibly even where you went and when. All the above is already in place, and being used. We even purchase it ourselves. Believing that we're doing it as convenience, "OnStar" or "LoJack" systems in our cars. Thumb print readers at the bank or DMV. Our drivers license becoming a national ID. When's the last time you went to a store or outside a business that there weren't camera's bolted to every corner? The police are starting to question and request ID of the passengers in vehicles that were stopped for minor traffic violations. Some might not consider all the above to be draconian, I do. When you can't sit on a park bench, and pick your nose or scratch your nuts. Without the knowing in the back of your mind, that somewhere a cop or security guard is watching you. That's draconian. I replied to this before and now it's gone, damn it was a good one to. I'll do it again later, topic hates me.

I thought they only did that to me, they do it especially when I come close to becomming vulgar but some people are really vulgar and their posts goes through, all I said was #Beep##Beep, hu maybe that's why. Actually I was referring to that guy sitting on the park bench picking his nose and scratching his nuts in front of an audience.

RICHARD X wrote: <quoted text> That was me on the park bench!! Vulgarity has it's place. I use it to strengthen a point or convey extreme displeasure. Like the remark this morning about Allah and his bomb toting minions. I don't think Topix really deletes any posts. I've seen some just recently that were more appropriate on men's rooms walls. And they weren't deleted, obviously. I think it happens when you take to long to post or if you happen to hit "post comment" at the same moment as someone else, in the same forum. I've noticed that when one of mine had been dropped. another's post was there instead, when I was returned to the forum view. Yeah I know that was you Rich but hey, if it makes ya feel better I'm sure we have been caught picking our noses and scrathing our nuts more than we want to know, well I guess it depends on how much you do it. Point taken though..
