Is there any hope that this will go away?

I hope so. I feel like it went away for about 3 months, but the last few weeks has been worse than it has ever been.

We need to figure out how to get a quiet zone established at least for the midnight - 5 am time. It is waking us up every morning especially around 4 am at Josey /keller Springs area

I just heard some insanely loud train, like noise, at 2:15ish AM, Sept 4 2012. I could barely identify which direction it was coming from, it was just insanely loud, it sounded as though a train was driving right over the top of the building I live in. After it quieted down it then sounded as if it was driving down marsh past country square drive. It doesn't necessarily anger me, but oh my god what was that?

Between the ghetto dogs and the train noise all night long my health is getting wrecked. I have been using ear plugs but now after prolonged use of them I get an earthquake sort of inner feeling while I am sitting down and sleeping. The train noise is ridiculous in Carrollton. Sounds like the Joker from Batman laying down on that horn every night , several times a night at all hours of the night! I am moving soon so I will just make sure there are no trains within 2 miles or so! Good luck to the rest of you!

I live a pretty good distance from these tracks (Briargrove and marsh), yet I can hear the loud train blowing its horn repeatedly at all hours of the night. Specifically at 2 am the last few nights. In understand it a law to honk their horns, but after a certain time it should be outlawed!

I had heard that the city was attempting to get a quiet zone (10pm-7am) enforced over this, but it's been 10 months and nothing has happened. It seems the "honkers" are more heavy handed lately on the length and loudness of their blows. I think I'll pay a visit to city hall to check up on the status and see if there is actually anything in the owrks.

I have been keeping track of the train horns day/night. The times are at anytime. I have heard of some cities inacting a quiet zone. Why? Some of the train engineers have a fun time blowing their horns long and loud as if they are at a party. If train engineers are professionals why do they not seem to be? I think train engineers are with their train horns just horny.

I hear this most mornings, and often in the middle of the night. I don't have a problem with them blowing it, its that they blow and blow on it upwards of 30-40 min at a constant. I don't get who or what they are trying warn at this level. This morning, Saturday of course, it started at 6:30am and went until 7. Its like the train doesn't even move. It doesn't seem necessary. Isn't there something that can be done about this??

I have to admit, if I operated a train, the whistle would be worn out. They have a minimum and maximum blast time per intersection in some areas per a buddy that worked for the railroad. I live about 1/4 mile from that line just north of the spot mentioned. I hear it every night. Sometimes they blast constantly, sometimes no blast at all.
