Go to towns with a Walmart and ask the owners of all the empty storefronts how much they like Walmart. Walmart is a very, very bad company whose sole purpose it to put EVERY business out-of-business. Most of the their merchandise is made in China, so they are putting manufacturers out-of-businees and supporting Chinese manufacturers that use slave children workers. Walmart's employees cannot even make a livable wage, so we have to give them food stamps. Walmart is NOT good for our town. Thorns, Woods, & Kishman's will go out-of-business in a second if Walmart opens in our area. Personally, I boycott Walmart for all their bad business practices.

There are other businesses around Wal-Mart that sell what they don't offer, they are doing fine. For an example we have Giant Eagle who has better produce and sells different brands and items Wal-Mart doesn't. Hardware stores sell a multitude of items you won't find in Wal-Mart. Your looking at this negatively, open your thought process and I' sure you can find examples like I have.

"Lake Mohawk"----you are 100% correct. Many European countries won't let Wal-Mart in due to what they do to local businesses---put them out-of-business. Now, as usual, you will get the FOX take on the way Wal-Mart operates from Randy Miller. Here is a guy who is so brain-washed and obsessed with Far Right-wing-nut laissez-faire capitalism, he can't see the obvious truth. Wal-Mart is the biggest corporation in the world and the 6 Waltons got over $100 BILLION in their pockets by (1) paying workers poverty wages (2) not giving most workers a 40 hour week (3) making most workers part-timers so Wal-Mart won't have to give them any benefits (4) coming into a community and dropping prices temporarily until Wal-Mart puts many of the local businesses out-of-business. Then, when the local shops are gone, Wal-Mart puts their prices back up. I DIDN'T MAKE THIS UP! I talked to a Wal-Mart employee who put up with them for 22 years. This worker pointed out exactly how Wal-Mart uses "Vulture Capitalism"-----Think Mitt Romney, to keep workers poor and NON-UNION. In fact, there is no corporation more anti-Union than Wal-Mart. This other commenter looks like a Randy-Clone. He does that quite often.

People like Randy Miller have the attitudes they have because THEY are not affected by "Vulture Capitalism." Miller is part of the U.S. Army and doesn't have to worry about having a job or paying his bills. SO, he's selfish, just like so many other Republican voters. He could care less about people that can't find a job anywhere except Wal-Mart or a fast food restaurant. He sent a Carrollton high school student to his death in Afghanistan so that just goes to show you what a heartless jerk he really is. Maybe he'll marry one of those FOX beauty queens and shut-up? Doubt it--either one.

Carroll County avoided the CURSE of Wal-Mart and the county has been a lot better for it!

SPOCK---is actually Randy Miller---at it again by using another phony name.
This tells you a lot about Randy. He just can't stand HONESTY! Anyone who tells the Truth
is an "A--hole" as far as Randy is concerned. In reality, he's the A#1 "A--hole."
EXAMPLES abound: He isn't telling those innocent H.S. students in Carrollton about the real world of the military. Over 58,000 of my military brothers came home from Vietnam in a coffin!!! Over 200,000 were wounded, including my brother,
who spent over a month in a military hospital after being caught in an ambush in Vietnam in 1968.
The Middle-East wars, which could have been avoided, have cost over a TRILLION DOLLARS, over 5,000 American military lives and the soldiers with severe wounds and PTSD are in the 10's of thousands.

Here's the kind of stuff that Randy and other Fox-brain-washed fools can't get / won't get / can't figure out---for some unexplained reason. I had a house built in NE Ohio in 1980 and had extras put in it like a higher basement ceiling and extra insulation. It's a 3 bedroom house and it cost $39,000! That's right---$39,000. So, 34 years later, a new house like mine cost about $139,000 or more. In 34 years, has the minimum wage kept up with inflation and the resulting great increase in cost-of-living? NO! Just since 2008, the cost of a gallon of gasoline has more than doubled! So, has the minimum wage doubled? Hell, it has barely moved. SEE, guys like Randy---white, middle-age, not hurting for a job or paying the bills, can't see AND apparently DON'T CARE about all of the people who can't find a job or are working for the current, pathetic minimum wage. Even if the minimum wage jumped to $10 an hour today, that would only be $21,000 a year with a 40 hour week job. TRY living on $21,000 for a year with, say, a family of four.

Randy and a boatload of Fox lemmings can't seem to figure out where the U.S. jobs went. FOX propagandists will tell you "the Unions did it!!!", but that's a monstrous lie. When the Unions were strong and many workers were in them (1960's, 1970's, 1980's), the business owners were getting very rich. But, as has been absolutely proven, these millionaires (and now BILLIONAIRES) are never satisfied with their wallets. The Waltons, 6 of them, are the perfect example. They have been paying their workers poverty wages for decades AND most workers are part-timers. So, the Waltons buy the stuff from China where workers are mostly living in real poverty. NO American could survive on the wages paid to Chinese! But, stupid is as stupid thinks, Randy and other Republican-voting (Boehner! Palin! The Pauls! Cruz! Bushes! "Ayn" Ryan--YIKES!!!) lemmings can't figure it out. WHY? Is it so hard to see what these Ultra-Rich people have done? Are your brains so Brain-Washed by the Ultra-Rich Republican--Billionaire Murdock FOX crap (Limpbaugh, O'Leily, Head-in-fanny-Hannity, etc.), that you can't see the forest for the trees? Guess so! Anyone with a nanometer of sense wouldn't vote for a pathetic, poorly educated and corrupt bonehead like Palin! DITTO Kriminal Kasich! SO, just keep voting for the (R) Rats, who are in a class-war to destroy the Middle-class (probably YOU) and down the road, there won't be a Middle-class. There will be the Waltons and their ilk, living in highly guarded and gated mansions and everyone else will be living in tenements and shanties, eating weeds and worms. All of the Wal-Marts will be closed because "Joe and Jane Average" won't be able to buy anything in there. The Waltons and their Plutocratic Pals won't care as they drink their champagne and hit golf balls at their VERY private country clubs. It will be "The Gilded Age" all over again, BUT the lemmings STILL won't be able to figure out WHY! They will be too busy looking for weeds and worms to eat.

Pathetic, Randy! The "low income people" you mentioned are the Wal-Mart employees. Wal-Mart pays them so little that they are eligible for food stamps. Oh, I get it---your next line of B.S., taken from FOX Snooze, will be, "OH, they shouldn't have food stamps 'cause they are moochers!!!" Like I have said may, many times, YOU don't have to worry about a roof over your head and food on the table---DO YOU? But there are millions upon millions of people who do. A lot of them are disabled, elderly, in nursing homes---WHAT IN THE HELL DO YOU WANT THEM TO DO---GO TO WORK AT WAL-MART? Wal-Mart won't hire them, anyhow.

The Bottom line is simple: YOU would be screaming Bloody Murder if YOU, all of a sudden, got dropped to the minimum wage! Why, for once, don't you admit the Truth?? I'd like to see you, with a kid in college, make it on the minimum wage! These G.D. colleges and universities are notorious for paying some "research company" tens of thousands of dollars to "find a new President." What a Giant Load of Bull! OH, BTW, did you read the story about the top guys at Time-Warner? Comcast bought T-W so, according to an AP report, the T-W CEO is getting a "Golden Parachute" of $27 Million! That's money that should go to stockholders, not some over-paid jerk. If THEY gave him a million, wouldn't that be enough?? WHY $27 million? It's the same old Mt. Everest of B.S.---The Already Fantastically Rich get Richer while Joe and Jane Average can't afford to pay the bills.

Have you even paid any attention to the massive number of foreclosures in the local newspapers, especially the Rotten REP? Canton and other Ohio cities are looking like Poverty Central with a large number of houses boarded-up and rotting. Take a drive down S.R. 39 to the river and look what those towns, like Salineville and Wellsville, look like! Looks like the 1930's. East Liverpool looks like that, too. Look what happened in Steubenville with the football players. WHY do you suppose that happened? HUH?

Guys like your buddy Kasich (Mr. Leyman Brothers) were hired by the Koch Brothers to carry-out the Far-Right-wing agenda of destroying the public schools, destroying all Unions, public and private, and destroying the Middle-class. If they aren't stopped, the result will be 1900 all over again. The Plutocrats have the U.S. Supreme Court in their pockets, that's how "Citizens United" got passed. Should Corporations be treated like people? HELL NO! What you get are Billionaires buying elections---Koch Brothers and Waltons the perfect examples. History teaches that wealthy people have power and they are NEVER satisfied with the amount of wealth they have. They don't care about anyone but themselves. They don't care how many Joe and Jane Averages are starving and they don't care about the children. When I was stationed in West Germany in the 1960's, EVERY GERMAN MAN, WOMAN and CHILD have health care. Their health care was based on people, NOT PROFIT. Health care should NOT be about profit at all. but about helping people stay well and treating those who get sick. Currently, for example, U.S. dentists are charging $1,000 to put a crown on a tooth! That is beyond ridiculous, it's G.D. criminal! Gasoline is $3.75 in Carrollton and there is NO shortage of oil! That's criminal, too. Diesel fuel should be HALF the price of gasoline since it is a by-product of the refining process. Instead, it's over 50 cents a gallon MORE than gasoline! Cheney got $34 million as a going away present from Halliburton in 2000. WHY? Oh, so when the Iraq war started, Halliburton got Billions in NO-BID contracts and at least 1 Billion disappeared---no accounting! AND, YOU VOTE FOR THESE PEOPLE!!!!! MITT THE TWITT!!!!

ONCE AGAIN, RANDY MILLER IS WRONG, WRONG, WRONG (as usual.) Many of the "low income people" are, in fact, Wal-Mart workers.

AlterNet just published an interview with a Wal-Mart Assist. Manager (had to be anonymous or Wal-Mart would fire him) who spilled the beans about how Wal-Mart treats employees, both "associates" and managers.

Here is an excerpt:

"When the president or members of the Obama administration do events appearing with Wal-Mart executives or promoting Wal-Mart, do you think thatís a good move or a bad move?

I think that it would be a good move if Wal-Mart had good intentions Ö

We can donate a ton of money to everybody out there Ö Thatís something that Wal-Mart should be proud of. But Wal-Mart should take its pride back in taking care of its associates and taking care of its customers Ö

Itís kind of sad that, you know, you have associates that are struggling right now ó especially struggle this time of year ó to get 24 hours a week Ö They didnít ask to be part-time. A lot of them would love to be full-time Ö

I think that the associates that are out there voicing their concerns ó especially through their organization ó I think that they should continue to do so Ö I think the only way that things are going to change is for the public to start understanding what weíre going through Ö

I think itís important for the associates to know that not all managers are monsters. There are some people that are certainly bad managers out there Ö There are a lot of managers Ė and Iím, you know, personally speaking to managers at my store and managers at other stores ó that are unhappy with the direction that the companyís going. Itís a lot different when youíre working at a store than when youíre sitting behind a desk in Arkansas."

SO, RANDY, Let's see you survive on 24 hours a week of work!!! AND, at minimum wage!!!

The entire interview is HERE:

I have had 3 jobs to make it Bob. I have been there, I didn't have it easy but I had the motivation to find what I had to do to get it out of poverty. It's all about chioces in life. I didn't blame someone else for my situation like so many do. Each individual has so much potential, if they only knew. They have the power over their life to make what they want out of it. It's up to them. My advice to them, go for your dream and don't ever give up no matter how hard it is.

Randy, have you ever heard of the saying,"the deck is stacked against you?" We just had the Republicans on the U.S. Supreme Court open the door even wider for the top 5%, 1% and .1% to buy politicians and elections. The Republican Party has been hijacked by the Koch Brothers, the Waltons, Adelson and other multi-Billionaires. The Koch Brothers are out to destroy all Unions, private and public AND they financed Kriminal Kasich's campaign for Gov of Ohio through their PAC--AFP. An economy only works when the majority, NOT just the 5%, 1% or .1%, have money to spend. But our country has seen a massive concentration of wealth and a massive movement of jobs (it started with Rotten Ronnie Reagan) to places like Mexico, India, Bangladesh and China. I DO think you are smart enough to see that the average American could never live on the wages paid to people in those countries.

So, the corporate owners got very rich in the 1950's, 1960's and the 1970's. The Unions were strong and had many members. So, WHY did the corporate owners, like the Waltons, turn against American workers---the very people who bought their products? The ANSWER is something that I just don't think you understand----GREED.

GREED causes already rich people to screw their employees so they---the already rich---can get even richer.
GREED causes already rich people to buy politicians and buy elections so they can get laws passed that cut their taxes to the bone or eliminate them altogether. Are you aware of what Republicans did in 2000 with the so-called "death tax." These were the Inheritance Taxes that the Founders of our country enacted into law to try to keep the United States from going back to concentrated wealth as in England in the 1700's. The number of Americans affected by the Inheritance tax were VERY small. The Bill Republicans got passed cost the federal government $105 Billion over 10 years (AP story printed in the Repository, June 14, 2000.) In 2000, farms and small businesses already had a $1.3 million exemption, but that wasn't enough for the Ultra-Rich---THEY wanted NO Inheritance tax and that is exactly what they got from the Republicans in Congress.

GREED caused the already rich to get a law passed (THEY DID!) so that they would only have to pay into Social Security on the first $104,000 of their income. SO, if they got a million dollars in income, they got to cheat the system BIG TIME.
GREED caused the already rich to hide their money / incomes in places like the Cayman Islands so they could avoid income taxes. JOE and JANE AVERAGE couldn't do that. But Ultra-Rich guys like Mitt Romney could, AND DID!

The Bible says, "The love of money is the root of all evil." We all need money, but we don't need millions or billions. FINAL QUESTION: Do you really think that the millionaires and billionaires in our country came by their money honestly? OR, did they rip-off the Middle-class with wars, moving jobs off-shore and buying politicians and elections to rig the economic system in their favor? How many inherited their wealth and never had to work a day?

B.S.--Randy. Soros has peanuts compared to the Koch Brothers and the Waltons. Walmart is the biggest corporation in the world (Forbes magazine.) The Koch Brothers spent $100 Million on the 2012 election through their PAC's like AFP. But the Republican Party ran a man who is a really great example of a "F the Middle-class and Poor" and voters turned against him. He's a Plutocrat (look it up), plain and simple.

I think I'd fall off my chair IF I ever saw you comment on people like Kasich, Boehner and the rest of the gigantically bought-off (R) politicians. EXAMPLE: Do you really think that Palin was qualified to be V.P.? She didn't have the education (went to 7 different colleges to finally get a Bachelors) AND she demonstrated how immoral and unethical she was when she FIRED the head of the Alaska State Troopers for not getting rid of her sister's State Trooper husband (they were going through a divorce.) Palin should have been booted out of the Governor's office, but (who would have guessed?), the state officials doing the investigation were almost all REPUBLICANS! So, she got off with a slap on the wrist.

LET'S finally Bottom Line this. YOUR MAIN PROBLEM is a total lack of understanding and recognition of what happens to a society that has 1% holding most of the money. YOU don't understand Laissez-Faire Capitalism and how damaging it is to a democracy and society. WHY did Americans go to war with the King of England? WHY is there a United States? DID YOU ever take the time to read a history book on the American Revolutionary war? From your non-stop Dumb-AZZ comments, I don't think so. Do YOU even have a clue about "Fairness" in an economy? DO YOU actually think it is OK for the richest Americans to pay workers poverty wages? DO YOU? YOUR PALS, the Republicans in Congress, have already voted to REDUCE military benefits! WHAT about that don't you get? Pathetic! Maybe you will wake up when it hits your wallet, but I doubt it. Lemmings never figure it out, NEVER!
