W.R. Bell penned the words to the Alma Mater. What we need now is leadership like we had back then - rules to be followed, and strict punishment for those who did not follow them. I find it odd that his granddaughter Nancy Cope was not mentioned. She was a wonderful teacher, and touched many lives. It's a shame she was not mentioned.

How can we be supportive of a levy after the debacle with the Senior Trip? How unfair that 1. not all students could cough up the $$$ to go on the trip and 2. the stop on the way home at Cabella's was so unsupervised that a student purchased something there that would get them suspended/expelled at SCHOOL. There were administrators on the trip to chaperone. What were they thinking???????? DUMB!!

My spouse and I will NOT vote yes under this administration and board. NO WAY.

What's the levy got to do with a Senior Trip? Were you there? Have you ever had to chaperoned a trip with high school kids? If you had you know you can't watch every kid every minute of the day. Things will happen. Disappiontment, we aren't perfect like you. Some students will try to get away with misbehaving. For the imperfect peons like us, who didn't catch the misbehaving all the time, we wish you could have been there to assist us. There is another trip in May, are you willing to help? With you there, using your expertise, I'm sure it will go without a hitch.

Randy Miller, I did chaperone a trip with the Speech & Debate Team 13 years ago. We had some spirited teens, of course, but none of them felt the need to pop over to Cabella's for a few purchases. I also know you are involved with your students, not a peon (why you think of yourself that way, I do not know). Bottom line, the lack of LEADERSHIP is scary in the Sandyhook Society. We hope for better times for our grandchildren, and sadly, it won't be in this system.

I understand that it was a BB gun. My first question is why would they stop at Cabella's, and secondly, where were the chaperones who included the asst. principal Mr. Eddy? It has also come to light that the sheriff's office/police had to be notified once it became public knowledge.Personally, I believe it just illustrates the death of common sense.

Common sense has not been present at CHS since Mr. Davis & Mr. Eddy 'took charge.' You have to be in a little circle of their friends. their kids, their so-called secretary and her friends. Go into the office someday. See if you are greeted. There is just a 50% chance that you will even be greeted.

You are running your mouth about some very very good people Chuck. What the H*ll do you do for this community and for the kids. It is absolute garbage to see you try to harass members of our community that have chose to dedicate their lives to Carrollton and our kids. Lori is one of the nicest people I have ever met and she gives of herself daily to any of the kids that need her. Any of you haters out there, running down the people honestly trying to help the most people they can every day, you really need to look in the mirror and ask what you are doing to make things better.

I was never a popular kid when I went to CHS, but I never felt like the teachers ignored me! Put yourself in their shoes. You have no idea what kind of issues they deal with on a daily basis. Just because someone doesn't say "hello" to you when you walk through the door doesn't mean they are looking down on you or automatically dislike you. When I substituted in the spring of 2012, I felt included by everyone. Mrs. Bryan is a wonderful lady! Mr. Davis has always been a kind man. And Mr. Eddy is such a down-to-earth guy and has been since I had him as a teacher for government.

Regardless of what you think of the people, does it mean the kids should suffer? By not contributing back into the school system, it forces the board and influential people to make decisions that they probably do not want to make! I hope the day never comes that kids have to "pay to play" or provide their own instruments to play in band, etc.. How selfish to not want to contribute to future generations. That's how the world has become the way it is now anyway! Do the right thing and support your school system!

If a person walks into a public place like a school or police station and you get ignored; usually it's because they know you are coming to complain about something non-existent; non-proven our just plain whacked out! If it happens ONCE, then its just something else going on that needs immediate attention. If it happens twice: Look In The Mirror. Just My Opinion.

Very good point. Take for example the kid who made a "hit" list this year. Police found out and handled the situation. But a few over dramatic parents blew things way out of proportion and caused a major problem out of a minor one. People are way over dramatic. I imagine it gets old sometimes.
