The Warner's are greedy people and are afraid the Days Inn might loose business. What happened to supporting our Communitty and bringing business to this business. I am so disgusted by the Warner's actions. I hope Atwood remains open.

Well, I'm a taxpayer also and I sure don't want the Warners or their attorney representing me. I am all for Atwood being reopened. Competition is what our country is all about. We need the jobs and the bed taxes.

Just like we cannot get another resturant in Carrollton because the powers to be of the Ponderosa are forbidding it. We need Applebees, Cracker Barrel, or another name brand resturant in Carrollton.

I do agree we need more competition in the restaurant realm but our local restaurants need the support as well. There are many delicious places in and around town that many people never care to acknowledge because they are not chains. They are even inexpensive!

I also agree that Atwood reopening is a great way to climb back up from the economic downturn that carroll county has faced in recent years.

Agree...this is all about greed from the Warner's. I hope Atwood Lodge has much success. I would much rather see it open than an empty building sitting. It's such a beautiful facility!!

It has nothing to do with competition. It has to do with the county giving county money to a private business.

You are 100% correct. But everyone else's comments seem to be the general consensus. Unfortunately that will probably weigh heavily when this gets ruled on. Society has turned into feeling entitled. It will only get worse.

The county is not giving money to a "Private" business. Atwood Resort is owned by the county now.
As for competition, there is none. There is only 2 hotels in the area now. Days Inn and Atwood. If Days Inn is that worried that Atwood will take all of its business, they must have some problems there. I also belive that Carrollton needs to allow new restaurants and other stores, such as maybe a Walmart, Applebees', Papa Johns and so on, come into the county. Those are just examples, there is alot of other stores and restaurants we could use here.

I don't believe the government should be running hotels. they are competing against the very taxpayers who give them the tax dollars to do so

I don't think Atwood was concerned or worried when Days Inn moved in to Carrollton. Carrollton needs to grow a 24 hour emergency room would be nice too.

Atwood Resort and Days Inn are two different types of venues. Most likely someone looking for an 'atwood resort' is not looking at the days inn website to book a room.*and vice-versa.

It really isnt competition....even if it was, Competition is a very good thing.

I do agree with Jared, the county government being in the hospitality business with taxpayer money. But hopefully the resort will bring in a lot of new money for the area which in turn brings in even more tax monies.

It's all about greed. I have talked
to a few field workers and they said
they usually don't pay that much to
stay in motels.

One in particular had reservation and
when he got there and found out how much
it was he canceled it. He had a friend in
Canton that would charge him $100 a week
and left for there. He said with extra gas
cost he would still rather drive the miles
than pay what Day's Inn wanted.

I agree Atwood should remain open.
