"When asked to accept Ellington’s resignation, Miller said,“No, let’s leave her hang and see what happens.” "

" Councilmen Miller, Chris Barto and Dan Locke voted no "

Why would anyone with a shred of decency do that? She has obviously taken assignments no one else wanted and has been a model employee so why treat her poorly when she feels it is time to move on? Perhaps it is time for Miller, Barto and Locke, who obviously feel they have some sort of divine control to mess with people's lives for no good reason, to move on. If they cannot treat people with more respect than that then they do not deserve the honor of representing the people of Carrollton.

Sounded to me like she didnt really want to leave and they were hoping to figure out some way to keep her.

I thought this was 2012. For an employer to state that he would discuss her resignation with her husband is ridiculous. Maybe Carrollton is no longer an Egual Opportunity Employer. This woman has a full-time job and can't meet the requirement of a shift a week, so she's doing the correct thing, otherwise she would end up with black marks on her work record which I'm sure she does not want.

I have to say that I don't believe in alot that Mrs. Miller has to say. In the past it seemed that she was using her "power" for her own personal problems. Mrs. Ellington is a great officer. There shouldn't be any reason not to accept her resignation. And I completely agree with you carroll countian.

Last I thought it was a free country and if the lady wants to quit who has the right to stop her. If I'm wrong please tell me why?

I can not believe Miller's statement, let HER hang. Really! The officer is owed a public apology immediatly for the misconduct of council! What are the problems with these three not wanting to accept her resignation?! I feel sorry for the towns people. This council is a big joke. I'm with Carroll Countian. They absolutely have no right to discuss this with her husband! No offence intended to the husband. But same goes if it was the other way around. Carrollton needs to clean house and start over. By the way, I do not know any parties involved. This is ridiculous.

Would like to see a petition to get rid of the mayor. If I lived in the village I would start one. Never heard a good thing about him and can't think many care for him. There must be a reason everyone wants to resign. Not sure what is going on with Ronnie Yeager but I wish him the best of luck!! He is respected by everyone and has been a policeman for 40 plus year!! Outsiders move into the county and want to run it. We need some "small town attitude" back!! Perhaps we need to look at how some of these outsiders run their own lives and then decide it they are "fit" to run the county/village!!! What's up mayor, you want rid of the police chief? Why? Who do you have in mind and/or what do you have in mind? Good luck to all these officers involved in this article.
