Such a tragic loss!! Condolences to the friends and family.

Many states have laws that prohibit teens driving with more than one passenger. Studies have proven when teens drive with more than one passenger they are more likely to be in an accident. Maybe something we need to look in to.

R.I.P. sweet McKayla.

What caused this crash? Was she distracted in some way?

Sorry for the family.

Guess we just have to assume operator error. [Since she had the stop sign and the other vehicle had the right of way].

Well, I'm sure the family (and OSP) knows.

I was just curious what may have caused her to make such an error. If she was distracted by something or she just totally didn't see the other vehicle or what.

she was not distracted in any way or from. there was 32 witnesses two of whom remember the entire accident. it was just that an accident. she never saw the other car coming around the turn. and to find out from osp the lady who hit her was speeding.

Thirty-two witnesses at the intersection of 43 and 171 who witnessed and remember the entire accident? If there were that many people who actually saw the accident taking place, there was some sort of distraction going on. I dont think I've EVER seen more than 32 people at that intersection.

Even if the other driver was speeding, McKayla wasnt driving defensively. As drivers, our jobs are to obey the laws and also to try to PREVENT accidents when others arent obeying the laws.
