the carroll county fair is riged its mainly people jill know very well or people who have a well known name around here.my friends daughter has done it for the last 13 years and has never even placed and she is a very pretty girl. her parents dont have much but they try really hard to make her look amazing in the time of the pageants. i bet some one this year winns that has a name.

Same people place every year. In the little kids pageants your kid has to have ADHD to win lmao all the kids that win are the ones who can't sit still and it has a lot to do with who Jill knows also. Look at the moms who put their children in it lol there either 300 lbs or skanky as Hell.

Pqgeants are always about 3 things: a girls confidence, what she is wearing (if its cheap they don't place very well, just how it is), and the opinion of the 3 judges on that day. A set of 3 judges could hate you and you not place, and the next day a different set could love you and you win. I think Carroll is fair, from what I've seen. But as always, it boils down to peoples opinion, and you can either handle it or you can't.
I respect the girls who do pageants bc they have enough confidence to get judged and not win and still be able to say "hey this is me, and I am happy with myself"

It's for fun, and those of you who have a problem with it, just don't put your kids in it. They all look great and do a wonderful job, I think each should recieve a small trophy, just because. No matter who wins, someone always gets upset. I think all should be judged fairly and for the most part they have done that!!

Some of these girls in these pageants are so snobby that if they go outside while Irs raining they would drown. I was there tonight and I seen it. If the judges only knew what goes on behind the doors in the trailer they would change their minds.

The judges in these small towns are always biased. My little girl was in one and there was only one other child competing that day. The other child threw a tantrum and cried in front of the judges because her mom was trying to make her do things she didn't want to do. She won! What it boiled down to was that the mom went to school with two of the judges and I knew none of them. Looks and everything else aside that little girl should not have won simply because of the way that she acted. They are rigged and its really sad.

I too was there last night and because no one really knew me, I was able to watch and listen without anyone really trying to keep things to themselves. I wasn't in that trailer..but I heard enough to know that I didn't like some of the comments made in the audience. One girl was talking about most of the contestants...some good things but also some really not so nice things. Only one of my daughters is in the pageant now (the other one choose not to do it). She is smaller and I am hoping she only wants to do it this one time..don't think this pageant world is for me.

Ive been in two pageants and was descently pleased with the outcomes even though I didn't win. I however, feel that here recently the girls are way too fake and are just trying to add a trophy to there shelf. I feel like the pageants should be more about the most TRULY beautiful girls inside AND out. I think the girls have lost the fun in it all over the years.

Well my daughters one and only pageant is over. She told me afterwards she doesn't want to do it again. Some of the girls are nice but some are really mean. I have to agreed most of the people are nice but some of them are mean and hateful. I don't think we are going to do it again. Not for me or my children. Thank you everyone for you honest opinion.

I have to agree on you with this one. I actually went back and looked at the program book and it says Sunday attire with no restrictions. Now I am not at the meetings for this pageant so I don't know what they are told about Sunday attire...but I did hear some parents having concern over some of the dresses wore. I would think Sunday attire would be what you would wear to church. No restrictions in my opinion is color, how dress is made (like sun dress or dressy Sunday dress)...not a formal gown. I know two of the little girls wore long dresses...like a formal gown. Don't get me wrong the little girl who won is a cute little girl, seem to do very well on stage and when answering her questions. I think it needs to be more clear on what Sunday attire is? Congratulations to the winner, all the girls who placed and ALL the little girls in the pageant. They all were very cute and ANYONE of them would represent Carroll Co. very well. Just my opinion.

I personally feel all this pagent crap needs to be banned. It is nothing more than explotation of our daughters. What exactly are our we teaching them? That the girl next to you is prettier and more sophisticated. That really does the self asteem alot of good. If you have to judge my daughter on her beauty then really you do not even need to know her.

Other then the "Little Miss" contest, did any of the girls from Carroll Co even place? I personally think the winners should be in their own counties. But, that's just me. How are they going to represent one county when they live in another. I understand "grooming" and all that but for pete's sake, groom them in their own counties.
