I am considering opening a business in Carrollton Ky. I lived there some time ago and I know there weren't many up to date clothing stores also nothing to do for children. I would like some feedback on what the people of the community think would be a good addition to their town. Please feel free to comment. Thank you.

I'm looking for an entrepreneur with a new vision that would be willing to take a storefront I own in downtown Main Street, Carrollton. I think there are lots of things that could work in Carrollton but you are going to have to not limit your thinking/vision to downtown. You may have to market your products on the www to survive, the world has changed! I had actually thought about a store for childred, clothing, toys, furniture, etc. I think there is a need for such a business but you will have to market surrounding areas to survive. Let me know if you decide on Carrollton, I will work with you.

clothing store? The biggest need I have read is a place for kids to hang out. WHY NOT BE ORIGINAL, GAMES ARE POPULAR. PS 3 are hot. Why not a hangout for teens that serves fav. foods snacks and so forth with a room full of games ps3 and couches for the kids to enter tournaments or just watch others and hang out. Kind of like a coffee shop book store for teens catering to them0 A room with big screen tv and comfy seats. It is endless and would make for a great place for b-days and so forth. TOSS IN SOME ACTION GAMES WHERE THEY COMPETE. ski machines, car games to race.

What about a boys/girls club or YMCA. That would keep the community active and out of trouble.

YOu seriously want to create another hole for parents to dump kids while they are out getting F'Ed up. I have an idea, let your kids have friends over to hang out and play games at your place. That probably won't happen because parents today are to lazy to clean their houses up so friends can come over.People in Carrollton are always talking about " Lets make a place for kids to hang out at " this turns into, " oops I made a place that kids are selling pot at and nobody spends any money, just hang out " Familes just need to take more responsibility and have more family events instead of looking for the next free daycare. Besides just take a look at the boy scouts. You start trusting all of these people with your kids because you are to f'n lazy to keep them occupied, and watch what happens.

Don't think a store will prosper in downtown Carrollton...look at what is there now. There has to be something to draw people down there and is nothing.Just my opinion

Because trash ends up taking it over plus it cost money to do this

How about an old time country honky-tonk? Swinging doors, a juke box and some bar stools? I bet Carrollton would embrace that. LOL...

Please tell me not everyone in Carrollton is poor. There is money there! I Started my first buss. With a 100.00 investment to start. Then opened one store front. Then from that opened another and now I have a brand new buss. Starting up and have only invested 500 to start it. Start small... Go big!

They had a place like that in Madison, till the owners torched it a few years back. Couldn't pay the bills. Ole MD kinda speaks the truth, as much as you don't think so or like it.

Open a franchise...Logan's Roadhouse or something like that. The place by Carnes has had a few non-franchised restaurants fail there. Is it for sale? It will create jobs and be a good place to eat. I don't know what property is available for sale by the interstate exit but it needs to be close by!

I don't think a clothing store would prosper. Carrollton is too small and everyone would be wearing the same thing and it wouldn't last long.

I agree with this... VF has hard nuff time staying open...
I also agree with a franchise restaurant that's a nice set down place...
Or even a coffee shop, with free WIFI, that's inviting to teens and adults... A small Barns&Noble with a starbucks in it...:)
one can only wish :-))

Exactly, go big or stay at home. The little pie in the sky small mom n' pops places are about finished and only attract a very small clientele. The franchisers make it hard to fail.
