1 of all if you are having an intruter drill nobody should know about it execept the police and principle, dont give the teacher notice! that way you know if anything needs to change. 2 you say the doors are all locked shut all the time what about after school they are open with a cone ,what keep someone from planting something or hiding in there?

You need to have a planned practice drill in order to know what to do in that situation. After the initial practice drill you need to do unannounced drills.

you can plan them but teachers, parents, cooks, janitor s and office do not need to know when.even the first time,we must see them act as if it wasnt planned, teachers should teach them what to do!!! then unplanned you see if it works.they had plans in nyc at the world trade center it didnt work

They should keep all doors, entrances and exits LOCKED at all times. Install cameras at those doors as well, it should be manditory, also metal detectors, these are installed at so many schools in other counties. I believe our children deserve the best security at school. Very inexpensive. And drills should be done monthly, so the children are familiar with what to do in a time of crisis. I know the Pre school has been keeping all doors locked, and thats awesome. But the other schools should as well.

How about putting the criminals in prison not our children. Giving a shit about the way we deal, treat, and house our mentally ill. Make parents responsible for THEIR children. Give the school the right to defend themselves.

N.R.A. said it best "Only thing to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with one."
In other words the last thing you wanna do here is ban guns into schools or anywhere else for that matter. Maybe we can be so fortuant to have a good guy in there for the next bad guy. No scratch that. I got it!!! Disarm the public that way the criminals have easy targets. We can always arrest and house them after their done. Even better!!! Surely the criminals will abide by the law and turn in their illegally obtained guns if a ban shall ever come in affect.

My kid is in cartmell, i went to go to there school walked right in. People in the office setting and talking. Seen my child walking down the hall ran straight to me. No questions of who i was or anything. They continued to talk. I walked out. No doors are locked or monitored. Very concerned, after all that has gone on in schools after that i'm scared to death to allow my child to leave my sight. Us parents need to pull together and talk to the school board asap!!!!

Well all the signs on the doors that state the doors remain locked is crap,Isaw one prop open with an orange cone and a cook just walk in the a different door . vistors pass need to be a different color each day,in a random order. The buses should remain at the bus compound after the kids are left off. security need to be checked not by employees, contractors or anyone employed by the school i would do this free
