I think it would be a great place to make
Into a museum.. Bremen has alot of history in the clothing industry. Would be alot better than just an eyesore to the city.

Do you live in Bremen, Debra? Do you pay Bremen taxes? Do you want to know that a portion of your taxes went toward buying an old, decrepit building? An "eyesore" is just that no matter who holds the deed.

As a matter of fact I do pay taxes in bremen, on more than one property, "I probably pay alot more
Than you do" I think the city should buy it and fix it up and make something decent out of it. It's not bringing in any money the way it sits..

How much asbestos do you think is in that building?

If Debra has so much property and pays so
Much taxes, sounds like she could afford to buy the building and fix it up herself!!

Why is everyone else so against making something nice out of a current trash heap? Maybe we can't afford to renovate it right now, but we could at least buy it back and clean up that junk store.

Congrats on your multitude of property. The old Hubbard building would cost so much to renovate. It's makes no sense to buy it and fix it up.

Not to mention that whole intersection there isn't the most attractive part of town. It would probably cost more to bulldoze than it's worth -- I bet it's loaded with asbestos. The remediation cost would be horrendous.

All I'm saying is buy it and clean it up! And try to do something productive with it. Anything would be better than its current state!

I did hear some chatter that the city was looking at it... Might just be a rumor

You are correct. Something should be done. Perhaps a grant could be obtained for beautification and/or health purposes.

Why not turn it into a strip club? Guarantee it would make more money than any idea y'all idiots could come up with..

I have no suggestion -- it's 6 of one and half dozen of the other. Leave it standing as an eyesore or tear it down and spend more money than it's worth to take care of any asbestos in it?

Glad I don't have to make the decision.

Where do you think the money for grants come from? If that pile of crap were worth anything, a private company would do something with it.

And whoever said it could be a museum, thats a nice thought, but there are not enough people around to support that, and no one is gonna drive from far away to look at some museum in Bremen.

It might turn into a jewel just like the 80 million dollar reservoir property that was bought on the spur that can't be used cause of a mussel,
Thanks

You can think the great Tom Murphy for not having the reservoir, when he was in he could have made it happen. But he used it for leverage
For votes, then heath beat him and now we have no reservoir.. Oh yeah I almost forgot how much money was wasted on straightening cash town road. Wonder which supporter of his had property there?

It was originally bought because SOMEBODY was hoping they could turn it into a MARTA station.

The only way Bremen is ever going to move forward is through investment. Buying up these old run down properties and leveling them is a good way to attract new business. Bremen is still close enough to the interstate to be revitalized, but you have to spend money and make improvements in order to attract investors and new business.
