I think there are people in our community who are dedicated to the refurbishment of our towns and communities. I want to thank Caronconn for the work he and his dedicated group has completed on the Warren Sewell Building. I know it is hard times, and especially for the Sewell Mfg Building and the old Hubbards building and the owners of these facilities.

The city will have to put pressure on the owner of the Hubbards building before this building will be cleaned up.

Who gives a crap about the old buildings? Bremen is a little one horse has-been town that is dead, that taxes is citizens to death to fund an overrated school system and the promise of a better life
For their citizens, c'mon folks haralson county has a lower ISO rating than the city does..lol, and haralson county is nothing more than a backwoods county that has no vision or future..
I raised my family in bremen and kids graduated from bremen but I got the heck out of there and moved to a bigger city in west ga. I have live the "BREMEN DREAM" and it was comical to say the least.

Until Bremen gets some industrial jobs maker in its own backyard, it'll stay a little has-been of a town.

Getting that industry is the job of the city manager and the mayor. If they're not doing their jobs, get rid of them.

I guess this task is just too hard for our elected officials. I have seen no response from the city council in the Bremen Gateway. If our citizens was so concerned why the Water Authority spent 4 million on Beach Creek Property when the towns are an eyesore . They are not spending a dime to revitalize the city, and every citizen should show up at every council meeting and voice their opinion as to the current status of our town. Clean up this town!

I read today where the Chairman of the County Board of Commissioners wants the public to help them decide to either go up one mil on taxes or cut services. He said that we elect them to make these decisions but he wants the public input. So in other words is he saying they do not have sense enough to make a decision or do not have the testicular fortitude to make a decision and cut services to keep from taxing us more?? OK here is my view. Cut some more services. Have the water department and tag office open Mon/Wed/Fri. It is not like we actually need them open 5 days a week any way. If your tag needs renewing on a Thursday get there on Wed etc. Mail in your water payment or if you want to do it in person you have 3 days to get it done. Face it this county is dying and the cities are dying. Remember the recent article about the new computer items we were getting for our kids and that the Feds would pay an amount based on the total of kids on free or reduced lunches and that was 83%!! Then in the paper there was the article about Haralson County joining some keep Georgia beautiful program and in the same article it stated that when they have prospective folks looking to come to this county with a plant etc they take a long route to avoid certain sections of the county due to the trash etc. WOW that is some fine journalism there. Put yourself in the shoes of someone wanting to open a business in this county/cities or build a plant. You do your homework which includes demographic studies and reading the local paper(s). Would you build here?? Would you open a business or plant here. Oh and do not forget the fact we have almost 25% of our folks at or below the poverty level, OH WAIT I forgot BIG GOVERNMENT now want to feed 100% of the kids free. You know get us even more dependent on BIG GOVERNMENT. Sorry got off track. But do you see the point. Industry has left this county/cities and they are not coming back anytime soon. Those of us who remain are the cash cow now. How much higher are our utilities going to go. Tallapoosa just raised our sewage rates AGAIN. How long before we will be @ 125% of our water bill for sewage?? How about getting rid of the City Planner and the Better Home Town Manager/Leisure Services. Exactly why do we need them? Is our City Manager not competent enough to handle those tasks?? If not then get someone who can do the job. There is still some fat to cut and these two positions seem perfect for the ax. The cost savings there should help with the budget.

My taxes are high enough. There are plenty of ways to reduce frivolous spending.

A lot of the industrial jobs that America once had are now over seas and will probably not come back. We must find another way to substation or at least maintain a our lively hood without industry.

A lot of companies are looking to relocate to a more favorable tax friendly location. Bremen and Haralson County should have teams of professional managers with one goal, and that is bring new manufacturing and industrial jobs to Haralson County. The main reason industry does not look favorable to communities like Haralson County and Bremen is the work force is not trained. We have to be prepared by having Logistically trained employees.
I have been a Logistics Manager for the Military for 29 years, and one thing that will turn things around for our community is training our work force so that new companies can have a work ready work force.
