Or do you know anyone who has?

We found a dog at the Hardees on 27 alt who was following the cars in the drive thru, standing up on the side of the car and just crying and crying. She's pretty young, I'd say 6 mos or so, and looks like a pit bull.

Respond to this thread or send me a private msg to identify, and we'll reunite you.

BTW, we brought her home with us so she wouldn't get hit by a car. So she's safe for now.

If you cannot locate the owner on your own, there is a vet in Bremen on the road that runs past McDonalds that will assist.

What makes you think a pitbull owner would even be cognizant enough to experience concern as to where the canine was at any particular time?

Mayhem: Have you lost a dog? Could you describe the dog better?

Belfast: How stereotypical. She's been well cared for, and has started being trained -- she heels nicely, she sits, she knows "no", and she doesn't pull on the leash. She's not skin and bones, and she loves people -- she's been a lapdog, because if you sit down she launches herself into your lap.

A dog is only as good as the owner, and she had a very good owner; I wouldn't imagine they abandoned her. I'm thinking she jumped out of a vehicle and was gone before they realized it.

Bart: How racist. She's just a baby, not a mean bone in her body.

Does every post have to be prefaced with "If you can't help constructively, then don't post a reply" now?

If anyone wants to help this puppy find her home, please pass the word around. Otherwise, keep your traps shut.

I'd check the local trailor parks, most of the have a pitbull connected to the front porch with a 30 ft logging chain. I'm sure one of the locals will claim it. Their kids might go hungry but the pitbull will be fed.

The dog you found has been running with a pack of dogs around the rock building. I have one of them, it's the twin sister to the one you have. It's not a pit bull, it's a another type of breed. It has short hair, and brown, light brown, black almost looks like a calico, it's called "leopard"

Have you seen all the dogs in the pack? Friends are looking for their German Shepherds that got loose.

Mayhem, do you mean brown with black in streaks through it? That's called "brindle".

She has a collar, it's faded red. It's not a new collar.

She walks on a leash better than our dog, sits, and is used to being a pet, not a wild or feral dog. She's not thin, either, like a dog that's been on her own. Not afraid of people at all. All around, a really sweet-natured little dog, I wish I could find her home.

We're going to take her to the vet (Bremen Animal Hospital) Monday and see if she's chipped or if anyone there knows her.

I know what it's called, good luck finding it a home.

Brindle's not calico. Calico is patches of black and red or brown on white, like a calico cat. Just trying to make sure we're talking about the same color pattern.

Don't get huffy. I've never heard the term "leopard" applied to dogs, just Appaloosa horses.

wobbie,
Your first post says you found the dog at Hardees, A man that I know lives in the last house on the corner before you cross the tracks on the street that runs besides Hardees, he has a couple Pitts that are well trained and very social, I may see him in the A.M. and I will ask him if he's lost one. You get a Gold Star for a good deed.

A child in my Sunday School prayed this morning that his dog would come home. He lives close to there. His dog is tan and white, and her name is Cookie. Please tell me if that's her, and I will come get her and return her to the boy.

Great!! I left my phone number up at the Hardee's, if he's lost a young female have him ask the manager for the phone number.

Can you describe her more? How big is she, what color, how old?

She's definitely still a puppy. Maybe 18 inches high. Tan and white. I'm not a dog expert, but she probably has some type of bulldog in her....maybe pit, maybe boxer. I really pray that's her. What a great testimony to my student that God cares about the things that are important to us! I will even come right now if it's her...he was so sad this morning.

You're more than welcome to come take a look at her -- she was so sad being outdoors we brought her in for a little bit to let her feel part of a family.

I'll upload some pictures and post the URL so you can look at her...
