Does every case that Judge Simpson oversee when Tommy Vance is the Attorney win? It seems regardless of the evidence if Tommy Vance is representing a client they will win in Judge Simpson's courtroom.

Have spoken to many people who have encountered the same situation. Wondering why the New's hasn't gotten involved or investigated.

Thinking a complete Public Open Records request where these two were involved with, would really show clarity to the truth.

Is this because Judge Blackman's wife works for Tommy Vance. So Judge Blackman takes himself off a case and let's Judge Simpson sit in. Therefore Judge Simpson only hears Tommy Vance's cases. On a final note Judge Simpson and Tommy Vance grew up in Bowdon together, so do you think there is a "Good Old Boy" System going on in the Courts at Carrollton, Georgia????

I have spoken to many attorney's here in Carrollton and Douglasville about this corruption and they are aware of it and whats going on, but their to coward to do anything about it in case they go in front of Judge Simpson.

What do you think?

No sorry, never even met Tommy Vance, or Judge Simpson. However, I am very social in the Carrollton Area and this discussion has come up several times within lawyer friends and social occasions. No one has wipped my ass with the hammer of justice...I just hate to see someone's power override their ability to judge without prejudice.

it's called 'the good ole boy' system, from what I hear - and I don't hear that from defeated clients, but from an attorney/politician I know that has come into Carroll County from SW Georgia and 'wiped the floor' with TV on more than one occasion. a couple of courthouse deputies from the past have said the same thing.

Tommy Vance is just a good attorney- maybe a little home cookin' advantage but likely just good representation.

the good ole boy system is in more courts than most would want. I sat in Paulding county court and listened to the judge tell a man that he knew his mother personally, cut the fines and time in half. Gave him house arrest, told him he would see him in church on Sunday with his mother! WOW!! His co-defendant well the same charges where not cut in half!

I know corruption in the courts exists. It is happening in Miami county. There seems to be a "good ole boy" club there that also extends to "Children Services".

Judge Simpson in the Carroll County GA district is the sorriest POS I have ever seen, he is crooked as a snake....He is so far from being a good judge it is not even funny. I hope he gets paid back for some of the decisions he has made....Maybe he will get some awful cancer that will eat his body down to nothing and he will lay there and suffer for months before dying !!!!! Maybe even loose some of this family that he deeply cares for...

The judges are POS! I watched a mother with the help of school staff prove her children's father was abusing their children physically and mentally. The mother had a lawyer who acted like a POS as well. The judge - you can guess who- left the children there without reason. The only people not in shock was the father, his lawyer, and the judge. Wait, I guess it's okay because the "judge" did tell the father not to abuse the children any more. As a parent my heart hurts for this mother who clearly was unconsoleable and couldn't catch her breath because she was crying so much. This county makes me sick and wonder how they can sleep at night Knowing children are being abused because they turned the other cheek. SOBs!

Vance may win a lot with Simpson, but not so much in family court. Their good ol boy bond is overridden by Simpson's frequent need to punish women by removing custody of their children. Seen him firsthand rule against women with no evidence of any criminal behavior in favor of abusive dads. Not sure if Simpson is corrupt but he's definitely naiive, has a poor grasp of ethics and is easily swayed by lawyers who play dirty and witnesses who tell fantastic lies. Moms if youre in a custody battle against an aggressive ex, avoid having your case heard by Simpson at all costs.

I had Judge Simpson during my child custody case, and was absolutely a fair and honorable Judge. But I do understand what the writer of this article is saying. During my case Judge Simpson rescinded a force agreement, and the guardian of my case schedule a hearing with Judge Duffey to overrule the rescinded agreement and even use Judge Duffey to rule on paying him 500 extra dollars for his service. So something has to be done to make the court system in Carroll County fair

I've read these articles, but HOW does one fight against "unfair" judgements...to continue on through the court system is very expensive. So do we just have to go on and forget the injustice dealt through the "Justice" system and the judge that REFUSED to hear or view evidence. Is that what going to court in Carroll County is all about? Shameful..

It's the same in Douglas Co and all over the state. Lawyers, judges prosecuting attorneys, clerks, etc, etc are mostly lost and out if touch with reality. Most of the lawyers and some of the judges are just downright crooked.

Money talks when most of the lawyers are involved in the drug trade, both using and selling. The courts, or rather the judges, get a kickback for keeping it undercover. They've all been in AA together at one point or another. If the walls could talk.
Carrollton is just crooked.
