Those are the most cruel words that I have ever seen written. IF you only knew the circumstances that most of the people using that Program had going against them. Maybe you will see it from their standpoint one day and change your point of view.

as a working class person, I am tired of all the free loaders out there.Thes fat ass people with a handicap tag on their car and when did being to FAT become a handicap? You can lose weight. If your to fat to walk, maybe you NEED to park at the last space in the parking lot for the exercise instead of getting the first space at the store or parking on the curb because your lard ass is to big to walk.GET A JOB--If your truly in need there are programs set up for that, if your just fat and lazy then lose weight, get a job and go to work and you can get health insurance to get your meds.If you didnt have dibetes from over eating you wouldnt need those meds, if you smoke, drink beer and play the lottery maybe you should use THAT money to buy your meds.

Shows just how stupid and mean YOU are. My father has Type 2 Diabetes due to DIRECT EXPOSURE TO AGENT ORANGE in Vietnam. So YOU tell my father to his face why he doesn't need his insulin!!! He also has cancer for the same reason he has the Diabetes. He is NOT overweight, in fact, he is UNDERWEIGHT, due to the fact that the treatments required to try and keep his cancer in check make it impossible for him to hold down food. Perhaps you should know your audience before you open your ugly pie hole!

My response had nothing to do with "wanting more". My father hasn't asked for "more" and is content with the care he receives. Care (in my opinion) that he earned the hard way!

My response was to "Uncle Dave" and his unreasonable accusation, that if people who have diabetes wouldn't eat so much, they wouldn't need the meds. If "Uncle Dave" had his way, my father, and others like him, would just be left to wither away.

His entire post was mean and assumed things that he evidently knows nothing about. Not everyone who receives "benefits" is out to scam the gov't or the people of this nation.

People like "Uncle Dave" are selfish and ungrateful to and for those who give their all, just so he and those like him may maintain the right to go on a board like this and gripe.

I quit reading Topix about a year ago because of all the mean, ignorant, & selfish assholes on here. I guess some things never change.
Take dumbass Dave for example. He's just trying to get attention. If he knew what he was talking about, he'd know that people on welfare have Medicaid...so they are not the ones needing help to pay for their meds. People on Social Security have Medicare, but it does not cover medication. It's the elderly, disabled and under insured people who need help with meds. So the people who have spent a lifetime sitting on their ass and not working are taken care of. It's the people who have worked and cant any longer, or work but can not afford insurance that suffer.
As far as all health issues being related to weight or smoking, that just showcases his stupidity. For some people, it takes suffering an actual injury, chronic illness, chronic pain, etc. to understand what others go through. Here's hoping that you wake up and get some compassion before you are the one on the receiving end of the opinions & attitudes you express.

Seriously? You compare a flat screen 80 inch tv to the medical needs of the elderly or disabled?
You should be ashamed of yourself. And for the record, no. I'm not a Democrat.

Where did I say that I needed you or anyone else to pay for my medication? I'm not so selfish that I'm only thinking about myelf. I'm thinking about people like my grandparents who have a limited income and no ability to earn more. I'm glad that at 71 you are self sufficient. Good for you. You better hope you dont suffer a stroke or other illness that leaves you having to rely on someone else, or at least hope those that you do have to rely on have more compassion that you do. By the way, my grandparents do not have a computer, internet OR a cell phone. I pay the co-pay cost for their medication but there are alot of elderly people in this country who go without medication, heat, food, etc because they have no means to get it.

Yall are missing the whole point of this program. My father gets his meds through this program from his doctor. It is 100% free with no cost to anyone but the company who makes the pills. So you people complaining about helping that is not the truth. The other issue is from my understanding of this program they were charging people for meds and signing people up who should not even be on the program. People who have computers, 80in tvs, and shiny little hot rod wheel chairs. These people could have paid their own way. The people who really need these programs can still get it from the doctors. The article just says the police shut down the people running the company who were scamming everyone. My dad and my aunt still get their meds free every month. By the way they don't have a computer, tv, or a shiny hot rod wheel chair either.
