Both are excellent school systems. Carrollton has more diversity (not a bad thing in my opinion), while Bremen is lily white. Carrollton offers much more in the way of technology and facilities (academically, athletically and fine arts). If you are a non-resident, Carrollton's tuition is drastically lower at around $350/year for a family while Bremen charges in excess of $1300/year per child. Both systems will open next year with a new superintendent. If I were you, I would meet with the principal of the school you want to enter and have them take you on a guided tour and discuss their school with you. You can't go wrong with either one.

To thug nation: you posted your name as thug nation so you're an idiot. and also I went to Carrollton and didn't feel as if I was in thug nation; nor do I do drugs or have ever been to AA. Those chances are likely for anyone, including kids at bremen. Have a great one :)

I am a graduate from Carrollton and my husband is a graduate from Central. We moved to Bremen for our children to come to school here. When we did our research it was plainly clear that Bremen was the better choice and I stick by our decision.Bremen is what the "OLD Carrollton" use to be. Look at the test scores and amount of EIP teachers our Kindergarten have. It's unlike any other. Bremen is the small town school that I want my children to go to, and we have enjoyed our experience very much. Our new superintendent used to be a principal at Carrollton...FYI.

Scores on the CRCT are higher in Bremen. So I choose Bremen instead.

Carrollton schools do have thugs, but not "real" ones. There are drug dealers (I sat beside a few in class), but no real danger. The administration defiantly leaves something to be desired, and football is usually more important to many. The teachers are a good mix, with cool and terrible.

However, the arts actually often get ignored, though many of the "higher ranked" (socially) students are involved. Those with talent for singing, acting, or painting (or even film work) are overshadowed by the favorite kids. Nothing new there, huh?

for me I interviewed the principal at both schools. based my decision on test scores, admin support of teachers, & decision to keep parapros/assistants in the class room (they cut something else or did without elsewhere rather than reduce # of teachers). I looked at overall class size. Bremen is the 'old central' and 'old carrollton' I experienced as a student. Sad to say Bremen schools still has its share of drugs, alcohol, teen pregnancy, drop outs, suicide. look for it (good & bad), you'll find it at all schools. i don't regret my family's decision on Bremen.

The Carrollton Admin is all about power and couldn't give a rat's butt about teachers or students. The best Carrollton Admin is now the Sup at Bremen.

True. It seems like the dumbest ones get the promotions.

I, too, am a C'ton graduate & we moved to Bremen so our children could attend the schools. It does remind me A LOT of the "old" C'ton. Academically I think it is by far the best choice. It has a lot of the old chs snobbery, too, though. Hey you can't have everything. ; )

I graduated with honors from Carrollton, and my husband graduated from Central and now works for the Carroll Co. school system. We still picked Bremen for our kids and have been thrilled with the decision. I know people who love Carrollton too, but with the horror stories you hear from Carrollton and even Oak Mountain, I really don't know why anyone would choose anything else. The administration and teachers at Bremen truly care and love their jobs! If you live in Carrollton, the drive really isn't bad at all, and I've found that the drop off and pick up are so well organized, that the total time spent is less than if we drove the shorter distance to Carrollton.

Your lack of knowledge for the English language says alot about Bowdon city schools. Students from Bremen carry themselves with much more class than the majority of Bowdon students. I'm sure Bowdon has some great students, they are just hard to find amongst the high population of trash. As far as sports go, who is in the playoffs and who isn't. But don't worry, wrestling is getting started up. Uh oh, my bad, Bremen will dominate Bowdon in that as well. And no, I am not from Bremen nor did I go to school in Bremen. I just recognize the obvious. wds6, if you have a hard time understanding the plain English I have just wrote, transfer to Bremen and I'm sure one of the highly trained faculty members can assist you.

I hear interesting things about all the Carroll/Bremen schools. In fact, I have noticed many Georgia schools have interesting things going on... Ever heard of Atlanta public schools?

I don't mean to poo poo on education, but every school I hear about has some kind of problem. Try to escape it, and you'll be on a life long search.
