Sounds like a business that should have been already in the “solicitation” permitted business like the Christmas trees sales (seasonal). Has a time limit (agreement between the business and the City) that would not leave an opening that brings up the questions below.
· Will the “hoop” structure stay up year round?
· Will this legislation allow these “temporary” structures all over town?
· Will we see the “flea market” look pop-up in other places from this move by Council?
This Mayor/Council does not answer concerns, assures taxpayers or thinks things thru.
This seems to be that existing staff cannot make a logical decision without passing the buck on to Council. Must admit I don't know the code that well. Especially since the City does not update the copy of the code on their website. I read on the existing online copy that the permit application goes through the police department and when I got mine to sell trees I was told to go through the code officer.

Lets be reminded of who actually has the voting power in the city......COUNCIL. Not the Mayor, and not staff. Of course staff really don't have a say either - Jeff Fix has Bill Vance as his mouth piece and Vance is now running rampant. Hostile work environment - trying to pass through anything that makes him look good regardless of the code or the legalities. LOOK OUT PICKERINGTON WE ARE GOING TO BE SINKING FAST!

Is this type of business bring with it big number of jobs.......no.
Does this business bring dollars to help the City budget problems........no.
What happen to the push for big development?
What happened to the indoor soccer field and high paying medical jobs along Diley road?
Come on Mayor/Council/Crotty give us the updates.

Indoor soccer field - what financial inpact will that give to the city? more traffic headaches for the residents. Big Development will take A LONG TIME. Why??? Ohio is in a recession and has yet to be able to dig itself out. No one is building or developing in central Ohio Small Potatoes. It will take cultivation and time to win the respect of the developers that Lance Shultz drove away. Besides, Pickerington is a bedroom (residencial) community. That is exactly what began 10 years ago with the residencial boom. People need to realize that is it what it is and it won't change.

Dear "Beware" I looked up this Lance Schultz you mentioned and found out he was the Planning Director.
"Beware" you're an idiot.... the Director only enforces the code..........Mayor, Council and the Manager work together to decide and approve the code businesses must follow.
"Beware" you need to research more before you comment on important issues.
If Pickerington had a good Economics Development plan they would attract bigger and better businesses. "Beware" I hope you are not running for any city position. We need people with good gray matter between their ears and not air.
