talking head wrote: <quoted text> Here is an explanation as to why ninth street is in very good shape as opposed to Thompson and thirteenth street. The answer is very simple. The State ZHighway Dept maintains and paved ninth street and first street. Those people know about laying pavement!! The City crews have no earthly idea how or what makes a good long lasting paved street!!! The city streets are not prepared the way the Highway Dept. prepares for their pavement. Have you ever gone to the Hospital section of town??...Sypert and Clark and those streets are swept regularly, there are almost no potholes, and look at the side where the predominately Hispanics live....potholes,loose dogs, trashed cars all over the yard, why the difference??!! Don't we all pay taxes Yeah I know but the state also funds for road repairs. Or at least helps fund when requested. If Carrizo Springs wants to grow, start with the roads. How do nearly all of us get to work? Driving. We can't work if our suspension's all jacked up. And if we don't work, we'd be worse off than how we are now. But you gotta admit, covering potholes IS expensive in the long run even though it's cheap to do right now.

Reaper wrote: Thoughts, do you remember the score? I believe I was still in the lead, and nice to see you the other day. The Mayor has power. He appoints individuals to certain boards. Certain people have the power to change the way Carrizo does business. We need new blood at the City Level. Who is goin to run? Many names are being thrown around. Is mine? See you in March. I think we need to get everyone new! New minds are the ones who make the changes. As for the score, you suck! LOL Just kiddin. Good luck in the race :)

Honestly, the only way it will come down is if someone burns it down. No paid taxes, city owns. Costs too much to knock down while it's still suffering, burn it down, it's easier to knock down. 1+1 always equals 2. Although I don't recommend anyone burning it down, it is an issue... Hopefully a strong storm will knock it down.
