This guy asks you to NOT pay your rent and send him your money, and god will give you preference if you give over 100 dollars, as well as other questionable propositions. Either this guy is a saint or a theif of biblical proportions. what do you think?

That has been Paulino's life, getting money from people. At least in his days as a musician, we got our money's worth with a great dance, now it's for nothing.
God will bless us if we deserve it with giving Bernal those $100. Paulina in a con man and very convincing and quite interesting.

I went to one of his gathering in Wisconsin with a friend who was involve in his religion. He had many, many followers and I can see and somewhat felt how these people can be sucked into believing in what his was saying. The big turnoff was at the end of his preaching, he did asked for money.

All “religions” ask for money Catholics have Jamaicas and Bingos , Protestants also ask for money just go to a Joel Osteen Tour date and depending on your seat it will cost you between $100 -$35. Churches bring Gospel groups to the churches for Holiday Concerts and disguise calling an entrance fee as a “Love Offering”. Go to TD Jakes church and there is a $15 bucks parking fee. Preachers give seminars and peddle their prayer CD’s and Books. Revival Seminars like a Joyce Mayer seminar also demand a RSVP seating fee….. The same goes for Buddhism a meditation trainer will charge you an hourly fee for meditation training. In Islam they will sell you prayer rugs, prayer clocks, pilgrimage relics among other things. Judaism has special schools that you need to enroll in to teach you the Torah and will also sell anything from Prayer stones to rabbinic prayer horns the only difference between them and Paulino Bernal is that he is more upfront in asking for money…

Ps: However some churches and religions do a lot of good with the money and sadly relief efforts do cost money….

But if you read the bible we it is our obligation to tithe 10% and that is in the bible now by saying all this negatism on topix and complaining if the pastor is good or not and you give this money to the church any church God will bless you and that is a fact all you need to do is read the bible also when you give it is by choice not force. God bless you all that insult the word of God.

I disagree "Tithing" is not a Christian principle its amazing how in protestant circles they use selective Bible passages from the Old Testament particularly when it deals with money. But maybe I need to elaborate on this so will understand.

First of all, what people call tithing today doesn't have anything to do with what God called tithing in the Bible. Under the law tithing had nothing to do with money and everything to do with food.

Leviticus 27:30: "A tithe of everything from the land, whether grain from the soil or fruit from the trees, belongs to the LORD; it is holy to the LORD."
Leviticus 27:31: "If a man redeems any of his tithe, he must add a fifth of the value to it."
Leviticus 27:32: "The entire tithe of the herd and flock --every tenth animal that passes under the shepherd's rod-- will be holy to the LORD."

Since tithing was part of the law, and the law was nailed to the cross, we don't have to tithe the way the Israelites did. Yet some people still say that we have to tithe. Instead of giving food, we are instructed to give a tenth of our income. This is what is now referred to as a tithe by the church. There is no scriptural basis for this change from food to money. The pastors of today believe that they are entitled to collect the tithe from you because they represent the Levite priests of the Old Testament. Revelation 1:6 says we are all priests now.

Revelation 1:6: "To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father--to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen."

They also believe that their church represents the Temple. The Bible says our bodies are the temples where God dwells now.

I've heard it said that tithing is a spiritual principle that carried over into the New Testament. There is a spiritual principle laid out in the New Testament but it has nothing to do with tithing. Paul lays out the principle of sowing and reaping:

2 Corinthians 9:6: "Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously."
2 Corinthians 9:7: "Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."

He could easily have put a number on it but he didn't. He says that we should give what our hearts tell us to give and not under compulsion. When the church took up a collection for other believers Paul still didn't tell them how much to give.
