Fellow citizens, I ask that you join me and my family and friends as we boycott Wal-mart for opening on Thanksgiving day preventing its employees from spending the holiday with their families. Let these workers have something else to be thankful for on this day as you show them your support by staying home and not shopping on Thanksgiving. Every year, this company gets greedier and greedier by opening earlier on "Black Friday". Now they've just gone ahead and trampled all over the purpose of the holiday and opened up on Thursday while most people are at home enjoying time with loved ones, these workers have to wake up extra early and work extremely late hours to satisfy the greed that has grown over the years. Please, have a heart and DON'T shop on Thanksgiving and demand that Walmart open at regular hours on Friday, not at Midnight.

Really just quit. In case you havent noticed, some of the workers are single parents and dont have a choice. If it were that simple, Im sure they would consider it.

I myself have had to work on Thanksgiving as well but the whole picture here is that "Black Friday" was meant for Friday and not on Thursday, the name says it all. And it is true, every year Walmart has been opening their doors earlier and earlier each year. Idk, my opinion is, it just doesnt feel the same this year now that its gonna be on Thursday instead of Friday.

Wal mart is only responding to the demand and if anything they are opening earlier so no one gets hurt again, its simply too difficult to manage that many shoppers at the stroke of midnight. People that have to work should be greatful they even have a job. I have had to work holidays plenty of times. Im sure its a difficult decision to be a single parent and quit, but what about single parents that would do anything for a job even work holidays? It all comes down to if you dont like it then look for something else.

Im assuming that you misunderstood my response that I made to "Question". I agree with you 100%. I just hope this works out more smoothly but its still gonna feel weird that the big event starts on Thursday instead of the original Friday.

Consumers are like pigs. They can't help but rush and trample over each other to get to the goods. First you're going to gorge your faces in your thanksgiving pig trough. Then your gonna sit on your couches farting and watching football while continuing to eat and drink beer. Then you will go to Walmart and force the workers to clean up all the mess you are going to make while running around like wild animals trying to get the best deals on stuff you don't even need. It's gonna be a good thanksgiving for you. And that's all you care about, yourself. You don't really care about inconveniencing others and it doesn't bother you at all that people have to work on thanksgiving. Hope you choke on a turkey bone you pigs.

I as an employee at Walmart think that I really no longer care either I work really late on Thursday "Thanksgiving" or really early the day after it doesn't really matter I'm being paid to be there and yes there is a holiday going on the day I have to work however spending time with my family happens when I'm off.... I don't need a holiday to tell me I should. My family has changed the day we celebrate Christmas it changes sometimes but it works for us..If people just steered away from the whole commercialism of the entire situation nobody would even care it was that particular commercialized holiday anyway. Why do we as a society need that much help from religion, government and retail to tell us when we should be or see our, happy loving family or dis functional hatred filled family as the case may be, anyway?

Its not like that but everyone choses their name to post and I was just pointing out that you were using the one that I use. Some of my closest friends know what name I post under and didnt want them to assume that it was me. And no Im not a moron but you have a nice day.

Perhaps in the future you should refrain from calling people a "pea brain" that you know nothing about which in turn would prevent them from pointing out the obvious. The fact that you are on here enough for your closest friends to assume that every single person that might use the same name is you is really quite pathetic. You should just use your real name to avoid all confusion.
