Has anyone ever taken the time to calculate the billions of dollars spent by the Department of Homeland Security on the Border Patrol. They have more agents than ever, x-ray vehicles, helicopters, planes, 4-wheelers, high tech survellance, and my favorite the unmanned drones that fly every night. All of these high tech toys and man power yet the drug and illegal alien traffic into the united states remains as constant as ever. I have a proposed solution to the problem. I am pretty sure with the excessive man power they have right now they could already achieve this. It might take them awhile to coax them out from under their shade trees and interupt there napping sessions but here is what I Propose. Take all of the agents and line them up in a line at arms length along the river. If there are not enough then sell off some of their hight tech toys and hire a few more to cover the lenghth of the border. Then play the worlds biggest game of red rover. If any of the illegals get through then they get a pass. Red rover red rover let Julio come over!!!!!

If you only knew about the big gaps in the security parameters that are left open on purpose. Its so that we can lie to the public and say that nobody is crossing over on our section of the border that we are watching. but since each region is responsible for only certain parts of the border, there are huge unmanned gaps that the illegals know about, but we don't have to account for the thousands of illegals that cross over from those gaps. If we don't see it, it didn't happen. If you don't know about it, it didn't happen. Right?!

Well apparently you do know about them because here you are on a public forum talking about them . Why dont you do your civic duty and take a stand and make our politicians and the rest of the public in in these locations and give them attention. If you are an agent you took an oath to do your job do quit just collecting a check and make a difference!!

Lets just breakdown your intelligent answer Mr. Whatever. You start out by insulting me because I chose to go along with the fact that "Agent" was or had been an actual agent yet you yourself go along with it by stating "And if he is an Agent, he doesnt really know the job" So I guess your really the Dumbass because you contradict yourself and show your lack of intelligence. It would also appear that by your third grade antics and your inability to add anything of substance to this post that you might also fit the role of the "dumbass punk talking out his ass"

The real problem is the misuse of assets along the border, there are not enough agents to cover all areas. Just like any defensive position, like the border you have to channelize the illegals and smuggelers using fences etc. There is also the high tech capability that is currently being used by the cartels, such as dedicated obsevation posts using encripted rolling military spec radios. These out posts being used especially in Arizona (and no doubt Texas) can report all LE movement inside each sector.

I think that they need to change tactics, instead of a 8-10 hour shift they need to occupy the area for a three to five day shift with an infield turn over or something simular. this will give them a better chance of controlling the area and steming the flow of drugs and illegals.

Just a thought.
