The drug laws are ruining our families. One or two dumb kids doing what every kid in America does on Saturday night, but now our family is out almost Twenty thousand dollars all for one stinking Mexican cigarette?

Drug laws are ruining my family. My kids do not get the treatment that Republicans get! Why do the drug laws only go after the drugs my culture likes? Why can't the drug laws be used against white people's drugs? Probably because they make the laws.

Is Rush Limbaugh in jail for drugs? The guy was a junky for years and never served a day in jail.

My kids smoke pot and now have a felony record!

Worried Parent, you are somewhat correct about the drug laws ruining families. But you are incorrect in assuming that there are "white people's" drugs and drugs that "your culture likes." Drugs are drugs. It is the scheduling that gets me. Why is marijuana a Schedule I drug while cocaine and heroin both Schedule II drugs?
This is not a case of partisianship. This is a case where the laws have been in place for so long that they have generated a LOT of jobs for people; whether that be the cops, attorneys, judges, corrections officers, probation officers, etc...
