On March 26, 1997, an apparently drunk and reckless driver (name unknown) slammed his pickup truck broadside into another vehicle, killing my grade school (3rd to 6th grades) teacher.

Stefanie Alegria, 33, of Aurora, and 8 months pregnant, was attempting to turn on to Golfview Road from Illinois Route 68 when the suspect, according to reports, broadsided her doing approximately 70 miles per hour. Alegria suffered destructive chest injuries and her neck was snapped like a twig. And the police did nothing about it and the suspect got away with it, which makes me really furious!

Something needs to be done right away! That guy killed my grade school teacher, who dearly helped me get out of Hillside Academy and back to a more normal school district, who realized that I did not belong at Hillside Academy, and who taught stuff quite a bit above 3rd grade level, read to us in class, took us on field trips, and she was the best of my grade school teachers! She did NOT deserve to die at such a young age! At least make the suspect pay restitution to her family, the husband who was absolutely devastated, no less than 2 children who have been without a mother since, and he should have at least been charged with second degree manslaughter.
