Anybody else remember years ago, when they had a contest, and you would win if you answered your phone with "I listen to WTBO"?
I remember when they played music. They played oldies on "The Housewives Hall of Fame" on weekday mornings. Then it was Top 40 hits the rest of the day. They competed with WUOK, which was the station on AM 1270 before it became WCBC. And AM 1230 was WCUM before it was WCMD. I remember Bob Brown and JJ Jeffries as DJs on WTBO. I remember Bob Brown used to sign off with "Bob Brown in the morning is an ante meridian production of WTBO radio". Get it, "ante meridian" is the official statement for "A.M.", meaning morning. |

HI THERE. I went to Frostburg in the 70s. I remember WTBO was the big rock and roll station then. I remember shopping at LaVale Plaza and Searstown. Seems like a long time ago.
