All right folks the election is coming on the 5th of august, The state rep race is gearing up. We have on the blue side, Sean fauss unopposed and on the red side Jason Fulbright and Dan Shaul. As a community lets discuss the merits of all involved. I trust all have read the voter guides in the various publications that they appear. Do your part stay informed and make the choice that is right for you.

As a voter who is concerned with waste and corruption, I find this article only scratches the surface with what would be wrong with electing this guy who ignores almost all the values and principles of the party he claims to represent. http://jcpenknife.wordpress.com/2014/07/23/fu...

Has anyone seen shauls finance reports? Most of his money is not only from out of the area but out of state. I think this guy is a grocery plant. I dont think he has our interests in mind unless you are a grocer.

You eat groceries, don't you? Most groceries come from plants or are plants themselves....

It doesn't change the fact that this guy's funding is from places like connecticut or New Hampshire. Why can't he or why won't he secure local funds? Could he have back door deals that only serve grocery interests and not ours. Doris I've seen you look into things before. Like myself you are educated and well researched. Do you think that a state rep position is the place for special business interest?

Just because Fulbright works well with others does not make him part of a good ol boy club. So you agree. Special business interest and not community or public interests have a place in jeff city thats what im hearing....

Well, then you are hearing things,...this is printed not an oral presentation, maybe you should get that checked!. If you call his need to grace every bill or resolution with his name in order to stroke his ego and rubber stamping every spending opportunity that has come before him working well with others, I would have to question your logic.

the topic of conversation here is not Fulbright s ego it is whether or not Shaul is going to represent his grocers or is he going to represent the people. from the money that he has received it would
appear that that question has been answered so again do you think that Jefferson City is the place for special business interests

Yes it is about Mr. Fullbright's ego, as that is what has gotten in the way when it comes to representing the City of Arnold. City council is merely a stepping stone for him. He hadn't even served half of his term before he was eyeing a higher office.

I would suggest you not assume to know what I do or do not agree with, it just shows you possess the character of the first three letters in that word.

Not as odd as the thousands that came in here while Sweeney was estranged from his $200,000 a year part time job that came from Texas and North Carolina from the manufacturer of the support structures for the red light cameras....

That just proves he is part of the corrupt good old boy system that has been in place for years. They all converted to their own private party years ago, they are the rulers and we are all just supposed to pay for it. The only reason Jason Fulbright is in office is because taxpayers paid $45,000 for him to run unopposed in 2013. His "accomplishments" have been trumped up by the PTB. He is part of the reason for the $2+ million shortfall, the coming laying off of staff and the elimination of some health care benefits for employees. He hasn't found a spending program he doesn't support. Giving away hundreds of thousands in taxpayer money to special interests and campaign supporters is why they are now having to cut services. The more taxpayer money he can dispose of, the happier he will be.

I worked the polls during the primary in August at Immaculate Church and got to speak at length with Shaul who was there for quite a while. I'll give you my impressions after speaking with him.

1. He's full of himself to the point of being arrogant. He's a lobbyist for the grocers and he doesn't hide that fact. He doesn't hide where his money is coming from, actually bragged about it and was quite clear as to how "on-board" those backers are to his running for the seat.

2. Because of that, his agenda was very clear. Crystal clear. Everything he talked about doing if he were to get into office was directly related to the grocers or anyone else, out of state or not, that contributed to his campaign.

3. Which I suppose is likely to happen. When you accept money, especially in large sums, to get elected to office you become somewhat beholden to them. That wouldn't be such an issue but Mr. Shaul doesn't even live within District 113. So when you add up not living in the district, and taking money from outsiders it's likely that's why during my whole conversation with Dan Shaul, he never once brought up the constituents needs in the district he would be representing.

NEVER.

If you think Dan Shaul is going to be thinking about you and your best interests in Jeff City think again. He barely knows you exist other than wanting your vote to press his real agenda.

Do did the same rule apply to Jeff Roorda two years ago? That seems to be his only agenda for the people Jefferson County.
