According to the news story:

"...the Eastern District Missouri Court of Appeals, upheld the city of Creve Coeur's red-light safety camera program that treated the violation as a civil penalty..."

If it is a "civil" penalty, rather than a criminal offense, there may be no violation of the right to face one's accuser.

However, in a criminal case, the 6th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution secures a person accused of a crime the absolute right "to be confronted with the witnesses against him".

An inanimate object such as a camera is not a witness.

Very happy that, after all these years and all the court cases, the red light cameras remain in forces.
It is still wrong

These things have been proven to cause more accidents than prevent them. Usually the accidents that happen by red light runners are never preventable just because the camera is there. It would happen regardless. The only thing they have done is increase rear end collisions and give the auto body shops more business.
