A word of warning to those that go to the Arnold rec center. While working out tonight, someone cut the lock off my locker and went through my belongings. As far as I can tell, nothing was missing (I didn't have any cash on me). In talking to others in the locker room, it appears to have happened to several people tonight. So if you use the lockers up there, I still would not leave my wallet, phone etc in a locker, even with a good lock on it.

Thanks JCee will let daughter and her family know.
If things like that continue to happen they may have to hire someone to monitor the locker rooms

I will monitor the womens locker room free of charge just to stop these horrible crimes from ever happening again. Maybe if I video tape as well that could help with security. Just an thought.

Hey Now you better not do that because ole Doris is the video tape queen she might get upset if you start taking business away from her.

speaking of the rec center ,how long could it possibly take to get there pass card equipment installed , I know way too many people, including myself ,that dont have one ,I finally took the advise of others when I was complaining about having to stand at the counter for 5 to 10 minutes at a time just to check in, they said just walk thru, no one will say anything ,no one there really cares ,and after talking too others ,there has been people that have been going for years that have never had a membership, they said you just cant use the pool, which brings up the question ,why? I didnt mind paying the yearly fee because I know that the money is needed to run the place , but why would anyone that didnt care even consider buying a membership if they dont care about swimming in the pool, and why in the age of technology does it take months to fix a computer?
and as far as the thefts Im surprised that it doesnt happen all the time ,any one can walk in and out with out a question of who they are ,or if they have a membership.

My family and I have been members of the Arnold Rec Center for several years now. My husband and I left 24 hour fitness before they made improvements. Although I would love to go back to 24 hour only because of the advanced equipment and FREE classes we really like the Rec Center. The people that work there and the members are wonderful! I can't believe the people who are bashing this place. Anyone who is serious about getting into shape rather than worrying about the technology and all the other nonsense should definitely join the Arnold Rec Center. BTW I am not an employee.

I guess you didn't read the original post the the top, where thefts were occuring. That right there ruins any other positive aspect they have.

so i saw on the news that there have been thefts happening at the arnold rec center. i am not sure if i want to return there again. i can not work out and think if someone is taking my belongings. i also think that the whole staff there in rude and unprofecional. the only people that are nice and care about the customers are the lifeguards.

Perhaps they should now start installing swipe card access to locker rooms. If they hand out membership cards they should also get access cards. Though I do know the thiefs can get access cards as well but it may deter alot of the thiefs. Or better yet, get access codes installed on lockers and have them assigned to eachpatron that walks in that use lockers rooms. You have names and address on file that way

The thefts are unfortunate. I take the precaution of leaving everything locked in my trunk. I carry my keys if necessary. Unfortunate that the scum of the earth ruin it for the rest of us.

As I am sure you are aware, those who can not write intelligently are also unable to speak intelligently.

I don't find that statement to be true. One of my best friends holds a masters in public administration from Columbia, and her writing is horrendous. However, her speech and range of words is well above average.

That certainly is not a great endorsement of the education received at Columbia!

Maybe that was the mail-order version of their Master's program, you know the one you can order from the back of magazines...they print the degree up right there for you. Who took her finals if she can't write?

Actually Doris she is very successful. She has been working for Doctor's Without Borders for several years now. She can write, however it is a struggle for her. What is you level of education Doris?? Are you hoping you'll get an honary degree for all your "participation" on this forum?

Go insult someone else. Debbie, she is very intelligent but has always struggled with writing. Luckily most of her work is with finances, and presentations. She kills it there. Everyone has strengths. But since this is not a graded site, perhaps alot of people don't take the time to review their posts.

Anyways Debbie, its kind of rude to say this to a poster. Who cares if their writing is not perfect. Maybe you're one of those people who never tip the correct amount and treat others who you view as beneath you rudely. I for one never treat anyone as less than I am. We are all humans and on par with our ability to love and feel hurt.
