New Bio-Fuel Plant Coming to Opp

Back to the bio-fuel plant... you're right, j-nine, they GAVE that property away. and what gets me the most is that they handed them the prime property on the whole friggen bypass. Think how much money a gas station or restraunt could make there on that corner, all the beach traffic meets there, everyone coming to and from florala have to pass by there. The mayor could have stuck that place anywhere yet he gave what could have been a happening buissness spot to a joke that doesn't need traffic.

Now, I was wondering about what the six months means and I hope there is more than chicken wire for a fence these people are talking about....

WILMINGTON, DE and SANTA ROSA BEACH, FL--(Marketwire - April 21, 2008)- Perihelion Global (PINKSHEETS: PHGI)("the Company"), a development company with interests in natural resources, alternative energies, and advanced communications, today announced that the Company has received a temporary operating permit from the Alabama Department of Environmental Management ("ADEM") allowing Perihelion to begin production of BioDiesel under applicable Alabama environmental regulations at its Opp, Alabama Biofuel Refinery.

Management is also pleased to announce it has successfully completed construction of a HAZMAT security fence around a 5-acre perimeter of Phase One of its Opp, Alabama Biofuel Refinery site in accordance with the Company's Hazardous Materials Security Plan. The perimeter security fence will serve to ensure the safety of the local community by securing all HAZMAT materials in compliance with federal, state and local regulations, while protecting the Company and its interests from unauthorized personnel gaining access to the site or HAZMAT materials.

Yes, I know H D also, and have driven for him when I retired from the Navy. A bad businessman he is not and he is trying to get more jobs brought into this community. The taxes he is raising to do this hit the middleman and higher wage people much harder than the poorer people, I know, I'm in the high middle class. Is the company a scam, I hope not, I invested in it, but have seen very little but the toy house built. Did the City give it away? not at all. There is a lease buyout. If they dont meet certain deadlines then the property and all of the improvements, such as they are become city porperty again.
Poetryman is not a person I would trust. He calls people crooks not on what he knows because he has demonstrated that he knows nothing, just like that guy in New Orleans who was screaming that the levies were dynamited to destroy the black community. He is just a disgruntled loudmouth who probably got fired because he couldnt drive straight and judging from his lack of education in his writing couldnt keep his books up to DOT standard.
Are there high hopes for jobs? Yes, because the community needs them. Can people be fooled? Again yes, but a lawyer oversaw the contract and has done the best that can be done, but its not fool proof.
As to the Rodeo, it takes money to cover all the the things that can go wrong. The rain screwed things up, blame God then. Does there need to be a better backup plan? yes but instead of standing and whining like some retard offer some suggestions. Have these Darwin candidates ever attended a council meeting? I doubt it. Have they offered any constructive advice? No, they just whine and complain because they dont seem intelligent enough to have any real ideas much less the ability to express them.
They have the internet, go out and find some real figures and post where they got the info.

Well said. I agree with roughly 95% of the above post. I'd pull my money out of the deal though. Investing in that company seems too risky for my tastes. I'm middle class too. However, I don't feel a need to disect the monetary class system farther to say upper-middle or lower-middle; middle is middle. I give you creadit: the whole Rattlesnake Rodeo and lazy fingers gig was spot on. I wouldn't put poetryman in the same class as some dude on crack running around New Orleans claiming the gov't blew up the levy though. First off, the topix.com , Opp AL message board isn't exactly CNN or the streets of New Orleans. Hell, the streets of Opp aren't exactly the streets of New Orleans. And its not what you would call a logical parallel- an extreemest who believes in a far out government conspiracy to drown a city to that of a simple-minded male who doesn't think his town mayer is all that great.

Well hello Crenshaw09 aka Poetryman09. If you're going to take up for yourself on a discussion board, try to make a name without the same numbers in it. I havent figuard out why some people are getting so serious. sheese!:-) I do agree with you alot Opp-iniated, I think we are on the same page, or at least checking out the same book,lol. Like I said, I dont live in OPP, I live in Lowery and wasnt raised here, but now that this is where I plan spending the rest of my days, it just concerns me about what this topic is all about. I work in OPP so I have a right to my opinions. I want OPP to grow so much, but it just upset me about all the hoopla about the Bio-plant and how 2008 was gonna change OPP and alot of the people here, I feel like they just havent said enough to the people (ex.OPP News) about whats going on, updates, perhaps plans changed, got behind schedule,no worries, something. I just hope we didnt get what I think were stuck with. Just my opinion. Ohh....crenshaw/poetryman09..I t's all good!

I do believe this is my favorite thread in the whole discussion board. It's the most fun anyways. Ya jeanine I agree, I think we got our heads screwed on pretty tight. I agreed with every last thing in all your posts, including the last one. All I want is for Opp to grow, but I'm not going to be blindy optimistic with things that smell too funny, like the biodesiel playpin.
