They must think we have lots of money to waste on the next generation of welfare slugs and baby stroller deadbeats. Do they really need to keep the heat so high or to heat ridiculous spaces like gyms? And why can't the teachers and their unions clean up a little to keep the costs down. And then there's all this new fangled computers and tvs and other fancy pants stuff. All you need is a blackboard and chalk. All these taxes and fees and surcharges and fines are draining the life out of the taxpayers.

And while we're at it, if the Amish kids can walk miles to school every day, why don't we get rid of the buses & make all of the kids walk. And why not get rid of books, too, because you can find anything you need on the Internet! Let's not serve food either... Make everyone bring a bag lunch! Yeah, that sounds perfect! Yup, get rid of everything & just give out chalk & blackboards. Quality education preparing kids for their future right there. Yeeeee-haaaaaa! Redneck Central!!!

Our future is the toxic smoldering remains of post industrial Gloversville.

Vote NO !!! Let the board do what is right for the taxpayers not waste the money on buses. Lease the buses like the taxpayers approved before. Teachers did not need a raise after a 4% for 4 years was approved before by our great board. Can't run because anyone with commonsense gets their name destroyed, ask Yerdon. The board is run by spouses of employees of the school district. Ask Fredrick's where his health insurance comes from? Teachers still got their perks. Wonder if still paid 500 per year to have a masters like Kardash says. NYS requires a masters within 5 years of a bachelors to continue to teach. or I may be wrong? Do bus drivers get a bonus for having a special licence?

wah, wah, wah, teachers who went to school & earned a masters degree make more than me who didn't go to college & have to work at the distribution center ... Wahhhhhhh.... How do you start with buses and end with teachers? BTW, if you got a job, & they told you that in order to keep it you would have to go another $10,000 in debt, would you think it was so horrible to get a little incentive to help you pay for it? Jealous freaks! All of he colleges are open, last I checked... Enroll... Become a teacher... Live the dream... This just in-- even if you vote no, the teachers will stil get paid. Green monster.

The unibomber was right. Technology and more importantly, the acceleration of technological innovation, will be the death of us all. And teachers with all the costs for this fancy pants junk, will serve as midwives for the collapse of mankind.

remember, teachers get penalized if they don't incorporate this "fancy pants" technology into their classrooms, whether they believe in it or not. It's in black-n-white in the new evaluation (LMAO) system, written by people who never taught and/or who just sucked at it.

VOTE NO!!!!!!! Put in some of the AP programs that were removed so the staff of Fort Plain could continue their perks. The students are the ones that suffer in education because of what the board of relatives has given the staff over the years. This problem did not happen overnight. The stafff is what has drained the school system. By the way I do have a college education, making more than the local educators. The board needs to get the education on finances. What does Carl do? Maybe he needs to get an education on how to handle the taxpayers money.

What AP Programs were removed? Last I checked, Fort Plain is one of the few places that still offers them. And, again, the money that is over the limit that the State says we can't keep in reserve CAN'T be used for programs or salaries for people to run them. Staff drained the taxpayers- give me a friggin break. Workers get paid. They get insurance. Big deal.

Just cut the budget in half and they will just have to get by. I don't care about your stupid rules and excuses if there isn't any money. Then there isn't any money.

They got their way. Now we will have new buses in our 7 million dollar bus garage. This will be used for oil changes and bus washing since the new buses will be under warranty. With the st. johnsville merger their buses will be repair in oppenheim. At least the state inspectors will have a state of the art garage to see what is wrong with the bus fleet. The board of education gets what they want. If this was voted down I wonder if this same proposal would be brought up again until voted through. Example mohawk-ilion merger and st johnsville merger and school budgets until passed. Fort Plain has one of the most corrupt boards in the area. Look at the tax rate conpaired to others in the area. Get rid of family members on the board that have employees working or that have worked for the school system.

this is why there are so many empty houses people are leaving Fort Plain and New York just can't afford to live here anymore. It's not going to get better. The price of food, gas, taxes is horrible. The only thing that isn't too costly is car insurance. time to move away from here look around at the cost of living in other places far less than here. It's so desolate here not much of a future for our children
