What will we do with all the homeless that are coming with the doomed economy. It is sad that he was homeless. Why did he pick up an axe. Why at 3pm was a gun taken to talk to him. Why were the deputies not called first. Polygraph? What statements has the shooter made in the past about his property rights and third persons. We cannot allow the homeless to become like prairie dogs to be shot when they try to make a home. Many of your children will be homeless if things go as some economists predict. Too bad, whatever the motives and fears that resulted in another unnecessary violent death that further stains our city's reputation.

Who cares what he has said previously. When you are on your own property you can do whatever you want to protect yourself. I say good shot! One less criminal that we have to worry about

You just type liberal BS vato. The homeless punk was on PRIVATE property taking advantage of something and he died. No great loss in my opinion. You vato sound like a failed lawyer POS that flunked out of law school though you want to sound smart. I don't care who's homeless, they will not camp on my property, I will send them to your trailer park to camp out. Loser. PS: The failing economy is Obama's fault, no more blaming Bush since obama has already outspent Bush 2 times over.

The homeless guy should not have STARTED the violent attack which resulted in HIS OWN death. You're one of those people who think a woman raped is morally superior to a women with a dead rapist at her feet aren't you? Folks like you have a sickness. I almost feel sorry for you.

You want to get George and Cheney off the hook so fast that you ignore the 8 years Bush drove this country into the ground and now want to place the blame on Obama after 5 months of trying to clean up the mess? If you are ten years old I understand your reasoning, if not, sorry for your lot in life.

I grew up in Tennessee. There, if you order someone off your property and they don't leave, you have the right to use whatever force necessary, including deadly force, to eject them. Tennessee also recognizes your right to self defense. I will say people there are 'way more polite!(At least they were about ten years ago.)It's still sad that the mo-ron had to die. Just another way to commit suicide.

The person might have been homeless, but it didn't give this person a right to go make another homeowners property his home. Case Closed. There are shelters for homeless people.

He was too busy getting his jollies to do his job. Bush was trying to deal with the Clintonites mess. 9/11 didn't help matters any. Seems as though your memory has failed you. Obama is like a woman in a mall with a wallet full of credit cards. One day you will see.

okay...Have we forgotten the statistics of the economy under Clinton and then Bush respectively? The unemployment rate under Clinton alone should shut you up Mr. James...Obama has a huge mess to clean up and damned if it is his fault this early on in his presidency

Too bad, whatever the motives and fears that resulted in another unnecessary violent death that further stains our city's reputation. This incident brings to mind an incident that happened to a city worker a few years ago. The worker was on his lunch hour talking to his wife on his phone. A homeless man came up to him & asked for thirty five cents. The guy waved him off. The homeless man stabbed him in the back, seriously wounding him & the victim lost a kidney. He was lucky surgions were able to save his life. I was stunned when I saw the news the next night. The same homeless man had approached me the previous afternoon in an Albertson's parking lot & asked for thirty five cents. I told him I had no cash on me. I was thankful a bag boy was helping me out with my groceries because the guy didn't look right in the head. Not all homeless are harmless, many are psychotic. You don't know the circumstances involved in this situation. A homeless man trespassing on the man's property wielding an axe no doubt set off a loud alarm in the homeowners mind. Axes can make short work of a front door. The homeowner had a right to protect himself. Carnuel is outside of the city limits. Why would this incident affect us? Even if it had happened within Albuquerque it would certainly not be a stain on our reputation. Prairie Dogs are not the issue in this situation although I am on their side.

You bring an axe to a gun fight you lose. Contrary to what some may believe a person does have the right to protect themselves. This is a good shoot.

I know you have a hard time grasping this but the man who came out of the house with a gun had the right to do so. The other person had no right to be there. If I have an intruder on my property I have a right to confront them. If they get by me my wife and family are unprotected so they won't
