16 of 43 school districts in Allegheny County hike taxes
More than a third of the 43 school districts in Allegheny County raised property taxes for the new fiscal year while those districts and others turned to furloughs, program cuts and withdrawals from savings to balance budgets.

the people of Clairton voted not to raise our taxes. however Sue & Rich think they can do whatever they want

These people are ego maniacs. Only a few reasons to get involved with anything of a political nature 1) Ego 2)Really want to do something 3)Corruption.
Most do not fall under item 2)

Well of course the residents voted to not raise taxes.
Who WANTS to pay more taxes?
The fact of the matter is that it costs money to do stuff.
It takes money to keep roads paved. It costs money to keep cops on the beat. It costs money to do EVERYTHING.
Everyone wants better paved roads, great cops, great schools and everything perfect but no one wants to pay for that stuff.
IMHO, we would be better served by REFUSING to pay federal taxes and pay it ALL to our local city coffers.....then our OWN towns could be successful rather than feeding the money hungry political BS machine at the top and hoping something trickles down.
Can I get an AMEN ??

If more people in Clairton paid taxes it probably wouldnt be necessary.
