A painful lesson learned, back in the late 70s I was asked to collect for united way at the business where I worked and I accepted the task. Myself and my staff did a good job and were proud of ourselves for the amount we collected. Several months after we turned in our collection we saw a newspaper article talking about the CEO of united way flying himself and 30 family and friends to europe on the SST and paying for it with united way funds. I have not given to a charity since and never will again!

The united way is a farce, it has so much money going to groups that really don't do much to help people, just politiclly involved. Support the
Salvation Army instead, they do help out.

Now you know the reason the Brewster $80,000+ dollars never made it to the public. I suspect the selected charities are just as shady by paying only themselves.

Of course, the McKeesport illegal gambling ring including a current council member aren't any better. The gamblers in McKeesport were indicted.
